Well I still cant find my kleenex's and I keep forgetting to ask BR if he moved them.
And I cant find my super glue. I swear BR throws it away. And its been years since I had a major accident with any.
But the last time was pretty bad.
I was doing a girls nails and the tube blew up. It glued my eyes shut. Literly. I had to go to the ER. They cut off all my eyelashes and pulled my eyes apart. They were swollen shut for days and days afterwards. I had to have a keeper. Truthfully. It took me 3 days to learn the actual layout of my house. I was blind. There was no opening my eyes. Not even a little. And I looked funny for a long time with no eyelashes.
THere was no damage. my eyes closed right before it hit and none got IN my eyes. But it was some hellacious glue. When it stuck it stuck.
today I was lazy. I didnt do anything except make cornbread to go with some stew. BR's mom had made the cowboys stew and brought over the extra. I had to boil it to cook the taters (she ran out of room in her pot) and was good to go.
BR came in this morning and asked if I had anything he could eat. I told him it was on the stove. He asked me what the hell it was. Then asked if it was hobo stew. I told him no, it was cowboy stew, his mom had made it. He looked again. Then said "thats not cowboy stew"
"yes it is"
"no.. its not."
"BR, I promise, its not hobo stew, you dont like hobo stew cause it has noodles in it"
"hobo stew isnt stew either."
"then what is it?"
"soup"
"no, its not, its thicker"
"its got hamburger meat in it"
"so, its thick, thats stew"
"no, stew uses stew meat, that has hamburger meat. same as if you put chicken in water, you have chicken soup, you put hamburger in water and you have hamburger soup"
"no, you put tomatoes, and veggies, and meat, and not alot of water in stew"
"so there is no 'maters in soup?"
"not usually"
"what about 'mater soup"
"there's no meat in it"
"so its still a soup"
"cause its watery!"
"so"
"are you going to eat it or not?"
"do I have a choice?"
You know, there are times when you just really want to offer up the true choices they do have. But I was nice and refrained.
Sadly he is gona be stuck with it for a day or three. There is enough there to feed an army.
Of course once he decided that soup or stew it was all there was he asked for cornbread. I told him the truth. I had planned on being asleep when he came home so I wasnt worried about it. He just happened to come home right as I was getting the kids ready for school. He ended up eating it with flour tortillas. But I did make some for lunch. I thought that was nice. Till he got up and wanted to know why I hadnt cut it and put butter on it while it was hot. I swear, he would bitch if he was hung with a new rope.
I HAD to go grocery shopping today. I was out of everything. And there is a fish at the fish store he ordered for me. Plus my frogs. So I need to pick them up.
I didnt leave the house till 1:30. I was being lazy. I did go to town, did a mystery shop and then went to daycare to get the boys, I already had Rayley and Bow.
Then it was off to walmart. It was about 3:30 and I knew I needed everything. litelry everything. And I still didnt get it. I enjoy spending time with the kids, but do get tired of the "can I have, and will you buy" I cant wait to get old, and then when they get married I am going to go to the store with them and ask for everything I see.
And they got really mad when I wouldnt buy brandnames on alot of stuff. oh well. They will eat it.
They really were pretty good. I didnt have many problems iwth them. Just the typical stuff. But since I make them stay close to me it works out okay.
But I do have a question. and maybe someone with a little more sense than me can answer it.
The boys are 8 and 9. Rayley is 3, and Bow is 6 months. Now when everyone has to pee, exactly what do I do?
Do I send the boys into the boys bathroom and wait? Send Rayley into the girls and stand outside so I can watch the boys and wait on her? Or do I send the boys in the boys, go in with Rayley and hope they manage to get in and out with out getting into a fight, breaking something, or getting lost? And say I have to pee. well, what do I do with Bow? I dont have a car seat, the buggy is full, I cant hold him and get undressed. So do I leave him with the boys outside? I know they are capable of watching him. But is it legal? Do I make everyone follow me in like I have done up until about a year and ahalf ago and use the largest stall?
I am just confused. There is no 'fix' to this delima. I just wonder what you are supposed to do.
We walked out of there two and half hours later, with 2 buggies and a reciept for 356.00. I still had bills to pay in town and needed deisel. That alone is another 100.00. Oh excuse me. I put 105.00 in it. And the fish store closed at 5:30. I will have to get my mother in law to go in the morning and pick them up for me.
Once we got home I had to get the kids to unload for me. Bow was wanting to be held and nursed after being stuck in a car seat or a buggy for 6 and a half hours. I dont blame him, but it sure leads to the older kids getting in trouble.
Oh and as I was writing the check at walmart I turn around and one of the bank employees, my very own bank I might add, is talking to my kids, and giving them each a balloon. I kid you not. You would think they wouldnt do this to a long time coustmer.
So once we got home they wanted to play with them. what they were going to do with them I dont know, but Rayley promptly lost hers. I had to stay on them about getting everything out of the truck. And I was trying to help get everything put away.
I did buy some mason jars today. I plan on making grape jelly this week. It was well after 9:30 before we got it all put up, they ate again, and after 10 before they fell asleep.
of course I let them stay up and listen to the baseball game with me. Our high school team is trying to get back to state this year. I am also hoping they pick up a little by listening.
Oh and my sunburn is itching up a storm. which is about right. BR wants to clean up the yard and mow tomorrow. I am so thrilled I can hardly wait.
Oh and I have been trying to find some more bamboo plants for my bamboo tank. I cant find them anywhere. I sure hate that. For years I have wanted some and saw it everywhere, now that I want it I cant find it. Aint that just the way it goes?

modern conviencences my foot.
Well we got a hell of a storm last night. I was sooo tired I fell asleep around midnight. Then shortly after I went to sleep the lights went out. I have 2 fish tanks with in 5 feet of me, one is about 8 inches behind the couch, so when the pumps stopped I knew it. It was SOOO quiet. But luckily I was so tired I was able to go right back to sleep. It was about 2:20, I fiqured that BR would be home before I had to get the kids up for school and would reset the clocks when he got here and make sure I was awake if it was time to get them up. Actually, I didnt fiqure this. I didnt care, I was tired. VERY tired. duke hates storms and wanted up on the couch with me and Bow so bad. but he settled on laying right beside us. and then hiding, and then coming back and nosing under my hand, or sticking his nose to my leg. I bet he woke me up 17 times.
Then I hear "mom,.... Mom, ..... MOMM!"
'wha...'
"its dark"
"its the middle of the night you mo-ron"
He crawled up on the other end of the couch. and tried to take my blanket.
"I cant sleep in the dark"
"I cant sleep with you talking"
"where is the flashlight?"
"hush! You are gona wake up Bow"
"I need the flashlight"
"for what?"
"so I can see to sleep"
"its on the floor infront of the guppie tank, but dont use it, you'll run down my batteries"
"will you get it?"
"nope"
"why?"
"cause I dont need to see nothin"
"But I'm scared to go over there"
"its 3 feet away from me"
"what if I fall and break the fish tank?"
"then I'll kill you"
"doenst the dark bother you?"
"Matt, please, be quiet, go to sleep and leave me alone"
Then it would be quiet for a while.
Then I would hear
"mom, did you hear that?"
"no, I was asleep"
"it sounded like thunder"
"since its comin a storm I am bettin it is thunder, go to sleep"
"but it scares me"
"do I scare you?"
"mooooooom"
then later
"mom"
"WHAT?"
"do I have to go to school tomorrow?"
"yes"
"But the lights are out!"
"Matt, we lived with out electric for a month during the huricanne, this will be back on soon"
"I was younger then"
"GO TO SLEEP!"
Then a little while later I am being kicked. Its me laying on the couch, Bow beside me and Matt at the other end. He is just a kicking me.
"mom" he whispers
"WHAT?"
"shhhhhhh, go get a gun"
"dont tempt me"
"serioulsy, I hear something"
"me beating you with in an inch of your life?"
"mom, please go get a gun, someone is trying to break in"
"no they aint"
"I heard a thump"
"well go open the door"
"I cant, its dark"
"well if you are real quiet they cant see you"
"mom, I'm really scared"
"fine Matt"
So I extract myself. you wouldnt belive how hot it was in the house. Gosh it was hot. about the time I get up and start towards the door, with Matt telling me the whole time not to open it, BR comes in. He has his hands full of his uniforms. And since there was no porch light on he couldnt see crap.
"oh good dad, its only you"
"who did you think it was?its 4:30 in the morning"
"it could have been a burguler"
"well, it wasnt, its me. Where is the flashlight?"
"I dont know, mom wont find it for me."
"right there, where its been for weeks"
I was by now laying back down. Since it was not even 5 I knew I didnt have to get up till 6.
Of course since it was too quiet for BR to go to sleep he came and sat down with a plate of food. Then talked.
Matt was snoring in seconds. I kept dozing off and then making him call time and temp for the time.
At 15 to 6 I gave up and got up. I got the boys up. and Brett came in here Matt told him the lights were out,I begged him to just get dressed.
in all of his infanite wisdom he grunted called me lazy and pulled the cord on the ceiling fan.
we explained that all the lights were out. THe electric was out. I guess this didnt sink in cause I sent him to brush his teeth and he spent 5 minutes trying to turn on the light in the bathroom.
I called my mother in law and she said that she had just gotten her electric back. 3 and a half hours wasnt bad. Since I had to meet Brett at the park today I was glad to hear it. I needed a shower after sweating last night. Plus I needed to flat iron my hair.
the kids played with Bow once they got dressed. I think I got them up a little early. She got here at 6:40 and they had him wound up tighter than an 8 day clock.
I came back to the couch, hoping I could convince Bow to go to sleep. No such luck, he was playing up a storm. BR came over and since it was so quiet he decided to lay down on the couch. He had no more than snored his first snore and Princess Criesalot woke up. She wanted cereal. I made that for her, she was mad because the light in the fridge didnt work. I came back and got comfy (sorta) again and Bow wanted to go to sleep. Ahhh.. I might get to.
I was half sitting half reclining with my legs pulled up, Bow was in my lap nursing and BR was laying with his head on my hip.
Then Rayley came though and wanted up here. BR decided that family togetherness was not conducive to his sleeping. He went and got in bed. complaining that he would never get to sleep, he didnt have his precious box fan going. Secretly I snickered. I hate that stupid thing. I have for over half my life. I think if there was one thing I could eliminate from existance it would be a fan.
or Rosie O'donnel.. either way my life would have less annoyence.
I decided there was no way I could wake back up if I fell back asleep, so I used the 30 minutes of battery to check the net. I always wonder about them folks who sit in coffee shops all the time and play on the computer. They must have a hell of a battery. I think mine lasted 40 minutes. But it was okay. I needed to get ready. Rayley fell asleep on the other end of the couch and Bow sounded like a mini BR.
And I still had no lights.
I knew they were supposed to leave the school around 8:30, but a friend was calling to tell me the exact time and if the destination had changed due to the weather.
I started getting ready and realized that my capri jeans, T shirts, and the work out capri's I was gona wear today were in the washer. I had washed them last night and planned on drying them today. There was NO way to get them dry. at all. I knew it was gona be 85 degrees today. and I wasnt gona get a shower. That is one thing that I did promise after the huricanne that never was. I will NEVER take another cold shower. Even when its 110 degree's in the shade, you have NO way of getting cool and you think you are going to dehydrate and faint at the same time, a pure cold shower will make you miserable. And sick. You can put your feet in water, that helps. you can splash cool water on you and it helps. but to get in a COLD shower is awful.
Anyway, Putting on makeup in the dark with a mag light aint no easy thing either. I know how bad it looked when I was done. luckily, everyone else I saw today looked the same. Too much blush, streaks of foundation, globs of powder, and uneven eyeshadow. All the teachers had been in the dark too.
I got Rayley up, put on jeans and was waiting on my phone call when I realized that my friend didnt have the computer number. thats the phone BR had used his morning. The phone that we use is a cordless. so I switched them over. Then at 8:37 the lights came back on. So I switched over the phones again, and 3 minutes later she called. None of my cordless phones would work. I had to disconnect and reconnect the other phone. they were leaving.
I loaded up the kids and off we went. We got there and I got Rayley out. The first thing she did was stand in a fire ant bed while I got out Bow. I was on the cell phone, trying to find out if we had a game tonight, she was screaming cause ants were on her and I had Bow in my arms. I got her all ant free, got Bow his stroller and couldnt for the life of me remember anything about the conversation except "I'm subbing today so I cant answer my phone, I just was able to call now cause its the teachers off period."
Well shit.
Field day was fun. Rayley had a blast. I sweated and my sunburn itched. I was able to wear my capri work out pants, I had put them in the dryer for 15 minutes while I loaded up everyone, got everything we needed into the truck, and then drove 4 miles down the road in my PJ bottoms before I realized I had forgotten them and came back to get them. When we got back Rayley asked what I was doing. I told her. SHe said "well, you might want to change shoes too, those dont match." She was right, I had on a lime green croc and a hot pink one.
When we left there I opted to go on home. it was only 1 and I really wanted a shower. Bow needed a bath and Rayley was filthy.
BR was just waking up when we left. I asked how he slept, not real well he said, and he thought we had left this morning.
I told him we had.
he asked when the electric came back on
I told him
Then I asked why he didnt sleep well. it was just hard to do in the quiet he said. I had turned on his fan, the TV and we had left. there was nothing to keep him awake. Heck, he was snoring so loud by the time we left you could hear it all over the house!
Now, I am going to go to sleep, and enjoy the AC and storm free night.
OH, and someone ate my box of klenexes. They were sitting right here on the table between BR's chair and the couch for months. I replace them when they are empty. But I went to get one and they are gone. I know they were here earlier. I keep meaning to ask BR where they are. Or if he moved them. I have looked everywhere.
Between those, the pens I know I have had in the last few days, the sharpie marker that I was using, sat down and went to pick back up, a pair of kitchen sissors, and one of my cordless phones all being missing, I am begining to think someone is screwing with my head.
Then I hear "mom,.... Mom, ..... MOMM!"
'wha...'
"its dark"
"its the middle of the night you mo-ron"
He crawled up on the other end of the couch. and tried to take my blanket.

making memories is easier than revisiting them
Dang its been a depressing couple of days.
Yesterday we had our board meeting for the PTA. We sent out letters asking for nominations for the board, we sent them to the kids coming to our school and the ones staying. The meeting was supposed to start at 8:30.
At 9 there were 3 of us there. And there was one nomination form. filled out by a kid. We couldnt get ahold of mom to find out if she actually wanted the posistion.
So we sat around and jacked our jaws for over an hour.
This does not bode well for next year. But oh well. Its not like it wasnt us three that mostly did everything this year. We begged for help. We really did. All of our good people are moving on to the next school.
At least year after next we will be back with them. And we have high hopes for them at the next school.
I was supposed to be doing a mystery shop that I had to have materials on that were being delivered overnight. I had told them to deliver them to my Mother in laws work. I knew I would be in town all day. I kept calling all day to ask if the guy had shown up. I called and tracked it. I had to do the shop between 2 and 4. I even hunted down DHL drivers all over town. Noone had heard of it. And on top of all this it was threating rain. I went and got feed, and after I pulled off I decided that I needed to move it to the backseat. So I had to get all 3 bags, load them in the backseat and then unload Bow and go shopping. When we left with the groceries it was raining hard.
I ran a few other erronds and then went and got the boys. It was after 3 and there was still no package. I gave the boys their uniforms and they started changing. Then Matt informed me his shirt was NOT in the bag. I had taken it out of the dryer and hung it up and had forgotten it!
I asked my mother in law to go to my house, get the shirt, give it to my grandfather who was bringing me Rayley and coming to see the games and tell him I had to have it.
Finally I got the boys dressed. Their belts DO NOT fit in the belt loops, you have to pull and push and really work them in there. We all went out and loaded up in the truck. I went down my checklist of everything I usually have on my person or within reach,
Brett, check
Matt, Check,
Bow, Check
Dr Pepper, check
glasses, check,
cell phone oh shit.
I started trying to find it. made the boys get up and help me look. They were both up front because of the feed, and the back floor board was full of groceries. We looked and looked.
I was about to give up and I heard "redneck woman" start playing. We just had to dig it out from under the seat.
It was my mom. I picked up and it was my mother in law.
"was I waiting on a DHL package today?"
"yeah why?"
"there was one on your couch"
"huh?"
"a big yellow package was on your couch, I brought it with me, you want me to send it with Rayley and the shirt?"
I looked at the clock 3:58
"yeah, go ahead"
Well isnt this just about freakin right? I waited IN town all day trying to find this package and now I cant do the shop. I dont plan on coming back tomorrow. Thursday I dont have to come back until 6:30.
I called BR and come to find out it was delivered at 1:30.
I took the boys on to the ballpark and it drizzled there. But I wasnt calling off the game this time. NO way. I was in town and until I saw lighting we wernt leaving.
Everyone else showed up and it stopped raining. So we played the game. Well, we pretty much just watched the other team hit the ball. Matt got a good hit. It just happened to be RIGHT into the glove of 1st base. Then in the last inning EVERY ball hit went RIGHT to his position. But he wasnt there. He had went to the bathroom.
They lost 15-2.
I hated that my grandfather had driven all the way into town to watch that debacle.
Then we headed on to BRetts game. He walked the first time and then watched 2 perfect pitches go by the second time. I hollered at him and told him to SWING the bat. He watched the next one, it was over his head. And then SWUNG at the next one. it was behind him.
As high as gas is, I am thinking about suing these kids for breach of contract. I know my grandfather was disapointed.
I made him run laps for watching good pitches and trying to walk.
We got all the way across town and I am on the phone with his dad, trying to listen to him and Brett keeps asking me to go back to the ballpark. he wont stop annoying me. I got off the phone with his dad and he said "we gota go back to the ballpark"
"why?"
"I left my hat"
Yep, breach of contract. or mental anquish.
Once we got home it was past time for Bow to eat. So I had to get the boys to unload the truck. They finally got in here with all the groceries and I promised Brett that he could do his timeline after school on Wen. because it was nigh on 9 oclock.
I had been putting it off. I didnt want to have to deal with it. But time is fast approaching and its a test grade.
When he got home today I dug out the containers that I throw pictures in. I hate looking at the pictures. Its hard to know I dont have ones of the first 3 when they were babies.
I knew once we started the timeline of his life there would be hurt feelings, He did insist on putting a picture of the burned down house in his timeline. which was fine. But having to explain to him that I dont have pictures of him or Matt is hard. And it bothers them. And it really bothers me. I dont realize what all I lost till I really start trying to find something. He wanted the pics of his siblings births to be the one in the hospital with their dad holding each of them when they were just hours old. I had taken the exact same picture of all 3 of them. ANd did take the same one of BR and Bow. I have Bretts, it was on my keychain. which I always leave in the truck, so it survived. But I dont have one of Matt or Rayley. I did go through an email that his aunt sent me about a week ago. she actually had a picture of BR holding Rayley when she was just a few days old! it wasnt the memory I remembered, but it was close! Thank GOD she had it!
Then it was just Matt that I didnt have a picture of. I started calling around. My mother in law didnt know that she had one. And my mom said she didnt. I was really starting to get upset. I was gona make Brett pick other first pictures. Then my mom called back and said that she had found one of BR holding Matt a few days after he was born. Again, not the memory I wanted, BUT it will do!! I am SO glad!!
Once we got it all done we went down memory lane with everything from my grandmothers death to their first horse. They couldnt belive those were pictures of Rayley and not Bow. ANd to be honest. They look just like Bow in drag. Then the pictures of Brett look JUST like both Rayley and Bow. LOL Matt you can tell the diffence, in the few pics I was given by family of him when he was newborn. But once he got a little older you can barely tell him and Brett apart in pictures where they are sitting side by side.
I am currently looking for a picture of Matt at 2 months. I have a wallet size of the other 3 at that age and will post them. They are just carbon copies.
Bow now has both bottom teeth coming in. and he is chewing on EVERYThING! Its getting scary!
Tomorrow is Bretts track and field day. They are driving about 45 miles to the lake. It kinda passes by me, so I am not going to drive to town and then back out past my own house to their field day. I will just meet them there. Of course we have to be back in town by 6:30 for a game. BUT I have to be back by 4 for that shop. YUCK!

What Mothers Day is at my house
oh wow. Its been a while.
I dont remember much for the last few days. Not sure why, other than I have given birth to 4 kids and its a well known fact that each kid you give life to takes a little part of you. They take your brain cells and destroy them. They dont use them. I can assure you of that. BUT they take them from you and then you not only have kids that dont have the sense God gave a goat, but you no longer have your wits about you to live life and remember what you ate for breakfast yesterday.
I did go to the school on Friday. Bow and I went up there and watched the assembley for the end of the school year. Brett had earned enough AR (accelerated reading) points to get a prize. And I helped to finnish up the Mothers Day Cards and get them passed out. Then I went shopping and came home. I had to get quite a few things and had to go to the meat market for the meat for lunch on Saturday. When the kids came in they couldnt control themselves and gave me my Mothers Day presents.
Brett gave me the card he had written and it was inscribed with an appology for being bad lately. That was very nice. I am proud of him for admitting he wasnt the best kid this year. Of course if he would change a little it would be even better.
Matt had made me a little bag with a list of the contents. Its really cute
Moms Care package:
a stick of gum- to remind you to stick with it
a candle- to give you light when you feel burned out
a chocolate kiss- to remind you that someone cares
smarties- to help you on days when you dont feel smart
lifesaver- to remind you that everyone needs help once in a while
a snickers- to remind you to see the funny side- there is one!
A rose to remind you to take the time to smell the flowers
Confetti- To help you celebrate the good times
a Penny- with thanks for sharing your thoughts
a bag - to help you keep it all together.
I thought this was so very sweet. BR said yes, sweet, and corny.
And then he also gave me a questionaire that he filled out.
He did pretty well.
1. What is your Mothers Name? Michell ly Byerly * actually its Michelle Lee Byerly, but the mispelling of Rayley's name confuses him*
2. How old is she? 32 *damn, he knows the truth!*
3. how much does she weigh? 102 *bless him!!*
4. What color is her hair? Dirty Blond *ahhh... not really.. its more blonde than dirty, but its not near as white as his, so I see the differnce*
5. What does she do around the house? Clean *wow... he see's this? or did it finally sink in that I am always saying "dont do that! I just cleaned the house!!"*
6. What is her favorite drink? Dr pepper *yep.. he is right*
7. What is her favorite thing to eat? Nachoes *I'll go with that. actually if we are going with that its beef fajita meat nachoes. But I prefer steak and lobster. I cant afford it, I just prefer it.*
8. What is her favorite TV show? Two and a half men *I agree, its in the top 3*
9. What does she cook? breakfast, lunch, and dinner *well, I guess specifics dont concern him, as long as their is a meal of some description*
10. Where does she like to go? That hair place *okay, this is where I get my hair cut, I go about once every 6 weeks. I should go more often, but dont have the time. I dont neccesarily LIKE to go. but I HAVE to go! but they think since I DO go, and end up dragging them in there that I enjoy dealing with 4 kids in a teeny salon that wont shut up. *
11. What is her favorite hobby? talking to her friends! *LOL, I guess this will work :) I dont have hobbies, I have kids. I gave up on hobbies when the first one puked up soured breast milk on the scrap book I was working so hard to make for him. And I never get to hunt anymore.Kids make it impossible. *
12. What do you love most about your mom? everything *well, at least it wasnt followed by a 'but' and a list of things he DOESNT like.. *
My father in law had bought them all tickets to the rodeo, so my 2 sister in laws were taking them. I got them all dressed and ready. They were very excited. and I gave them each 5.00. right before they left BR showed up. His truck had something break on it and while he was waiting on the mechanics to come and fix it he noticed 2 leaf springs were broken. So he limped it back to the yard and hoped it would be fixed by Monday night. ack!
So, He and I had a semi quiet night. Bow got all of our attention and once I finally got him to sleep BR asked me for a favor. He wanted his head shaved again. I am getting better at this. I just learned a high and tight, and have cut them all with the electric clippers. Now he wants me to use a razor. We managed to get it all shaved and he decided to change up his beard thingy. its a goatee right now. He just wants a mustache thing. It sorta looks like Paul Sr's on American Chopper. Or Hulk Hogans. I like it. But its alot of work to fix. and in all honesty I did screw it up a little. But not bad for my first time :)
Once I got almost done a sister in law brought back my 3. The two adults had taken a 3 year old, 6 year old, 8 year old, 9 year old and 2 15 year olds. As much as I would love for my kids to look back to their childhood and say "my mom and dad used t take us to the rodeo" I would also like them to live into adult hood. And the few times I have taken them to a place like that I could kill them by the time I get seated for the 8th time.
THey were all full of stories, and we had to listen to them till around 11:30. Then I went to take a shower and told them good night. I came back to only Bow and Rayley asleep. BR and the boys were playing poker at the kitchen table. I told them that they all 3 needed to go to bed. We had the cemetary working at 10 in the morning. ANd I planned on EVERYONE being there. I think BR thought I was kidding about him. I wasnt.
We managed to make it by 10:15. Luckily its less than 1/4 of a mile from the house. Since it was the buisiness meeting we had a few rounds. I am by far the youngest that shows up. Both BR and my families are burried there going back to the 1850's. And since we are at least 30 years younger than the others and 60 years younger than most I will make a point or a motion and get ignored. THen 3 minutes later one of them will make the same motion and everything thinks is a great idea. THats okay. One day they will be burried there and I will be the only one that cares. or doesnt. depending on how much they piss me off in the next 15 years.
They had lunch and since I knew we were going to BR's moms I said we couldnt stay. I rounded up all the kids and sent them to the truck and was helping a few of my aunts get their stuff set up and looked up. Brett was making a plate. Rayley and Matt were in the truck. I could have killed him. We waited for him to finish and then said our good byes. again.
We had a good day at my mother in laws. All of the brothers and their wives were there. His sister works nights at a hospital so she wasnt able to make it, but dropped by before she went to work for the presentation of the gift. I had gotten her a glider rocker and everyone pitchedin some money. We spent the day eating steaks and shrimp. Well they ate shrimp. I just ate a steak. I cant stand the smell of shrimp.
Sunday BR decided to spend the day with us instead of going in to work. He decided that we should wash my truck. oh joy.
I spent the entire time trying to keep Bow happy, walking around making sure the kids were not putting more mud on the truck and trying to explain to BR that I DID not put those scratches on my truck. He seems to NOT remember taking it to the deer lease and hitting all those branches. I dont know where he thinks I have been to put scratches all over it. But there were quite a few that we deduced were the result of children sliding over the side of the duel wheels instead of stepping over the tailgate. He bitched the entire time about the scratches. Heck, when it was dirty you couldnt see them.
Then it was on to his truck. The first time a kid pointed out a scratch he said "we are not looking for scratches on this truck, its used in the woods, thats why its a 4 wheel drive" Brett started to point out mine was too, but I stopped him. It wasnt worth the effort.
I was blessed with having to go in to get rags, go in to get soap, go in to change a diaper, go back in for more rags, get sprayed with water, clean off Rayley cause she had to go in to pee, deal with a baby who wanted a nap, feed the baby, go in and get towells, make them pick up the yard, go in and get them all a drink, go get more soap, which I was really low on, and had 2 sinks full of dishes I still had to do, mend a scraped knee, and deal with a baby who wasnt thrilled with sitting in his excersauser thing anymore. OH and I managed to sunscreen everyone BUT me.
So for Mothers day I got a sunburn.
We came back inside and I started to clean the house. I asked BR what the kids were doing. He said they were still playing outside. I asked him if he had specifically told them to NOT wash anymore on the trucks. He said no. So I went to do that.
A few hours later the kids came in and asked if we could go down and check the deer feeder. So we headed out. I didnt want to, but BR pointed out it was my day and I should take a walk with them.
As we walked out I looked over at my snow white truck, ( I wanted Yellow by theway ) and it had MUD ALL OVER IT! come to find out they had been making mud pies and got a little rambunctious. thats about right.
I toted 18 pounds of baby down to the feeder and back, and we looked all around. We were shocked to not see any sign of deer or turkey. Then when we got to the feeder we found out why. The kids had been playing in the clearing. 3 kids playing cowboys and indians, climbing tree's. drinking and eating are not condusive to baiting up deer.
Once we got back home it was time for baths and bed. I reckon aside from all the extra work, Mothers day was pretty nice. The sunburn is not what I would have asked for. luckily its only on my shoulders. Unfortunatly I had on a tank top.
