Well opening weekend didnt net me any meat in my freezer. BR went out but didnt get anything. Of course it doesnt help that there is national forrest beside my house and people come in and hunt right up next to my property. Basicly hunting off my feeder and food plots.
He also worked through the weekend, and took off yesterday. He came in around 3am and went out hunting again. When he came in we watched TV and tried to catch up on the things we had recorded all week. Around 11:00 he asked me if I would like to go out to dinner. I told him that would be nice. I asked him what time he wanted to go. He didnt care. So I called my mom and asked her if I could bring the boys over there while we went out. She agreed. I debated on us just going to an early dinner and letting them ride the bus to her house. Since they dont get home until 5. I decided that we may as well wait, and when she came over a few hours later and got Rayley I gave her some meat that I was thawing out for the kids for supper. I put the chicken I was thowing out for BR in the fridge and went to take a shower.
While I was in the shower Bow woke up. BR and he came in the bathroom while I was putting on my makeup and I told him I would take the mean thing in just a few minutes. So he went into our room and was watching TV and trying to entertain Mr. Needy.
I came out and asked BR if he was sure he wanted to go out. We wernt going anywhere special, just to Golden Corral or the local Mexican place, but I knew he was tired, he hadnt been to sleep yet. He told me that he was sure. and it was already almost 2:00. He kept dozing off and I asked him again. He said to just let him take a little nap and wake him when the kids got home.
So I did. at 5 I went in and woke him up. I was dressed and told the kids to do a little homework, mother had made them hamburgers and they were going over there as soon as their daddy got dressed.
I went back in the bedroom to find a shoe. He was back asleep. So I told him to just sleep. I would fix supper. I really didnt care, except I had fixed my hair and put on makeup. PLUS I hadnt fixed supper yet. So I had to fix both suppers, (BR is on a diet, so they are not eating the same thing) and deal with Bow who was in his 'hold me NOW' phase for the evening.
With it being Monday night the kids had lots of homework and wanted to eat immediatly.
BR woke up around 7:20. Came in the living room and wanted to change the channel on the TV. Luckily I had it set for everything I wanted to watch for the night.
Bow is activly active. Getting into everything now. He is walking everywhere and you cant keep him out of anything. He climbs as high as he can on anything he can, and is bound and determined to loose my cell phone. One time while BR was sleeping I went into the kids room to put up clothes. I came out and he was missing. I had heard my cell phone ring, but didnt come running because even if I did awnser it I couldnt talk on it. There is NO signal out here. Sometimes you catch just enough signal to screw with you. ANyway, I walked in here and was going to check to see who called. My phone was NOT where its supposed to be. And neither was Bow. I saw our bedroom door was pushed open so I went looking. There sat Bow in the middle of my bed, leaned up against a sleeping BR and holding my phone to his head like he had good sense.
I am under no illusion that he will differ any from the rest of the residents in this house, so good sense is not something I am expecting.
The boys brought home their fundraiser for the school when they came home. We are selling Candles. I have wanted to sell candles for years. I cant wait for them to come in. Not sure how many I can buy, but I love candles. Speaking of which, you can order some and our school will be able to benifit. I will get the web address and post it soon. These are great candles. And I have a feeling in light of current events this will be the only way we can raise money this year. Thats going to be awful. Our kids rely heavily on our fundraisers to do any activities. I am constantly amazed at the lack of funding for basic 'fun' things. I know that a field trip is not required to have an education, but who doesnt remember that trip to the zoo? Plus for alot of these kids, its the only trip they will ever make.
Sorry, off my soapbox.
OH speaking of the PTA. I was SOOO caught up in the election, and voting today that I missed a meeting. Seriously. I have NEVER done this. I live for the PTA. I am constantly doing things here at home for it, always trying to come up with better things to do, keep my records perfect, have spread sheets for my spread sheets. And I smooth forgot about a meeting today.
But I did go and vote. My kids came home from school mad because I had already went. And I guess I should have waited and let them go. I will next time. They wanted to be a part of it. They are pretty good little experts on the election. They can spout off all kinds of facts. They have picked it up from the TV, mine and BR's conversations, newspapers and various publications that we get. I hope they continue to be interested in their country and always want to be a part of it.
I do worry about them though. When they went to bed the returns had just started and Matt overheard that Obama had won a state. He was VERY distrought. I told him it was just a state. The election wasnt over. When he finds out what really happened in the morning I dont think he will handle it well. He has already told me that we should dig a big hole and put all our guns in it. And I am not sure I dont agree with him. I will just have to send him off to school tomorrow with the old adage that God doesnt give you more than you can handle and He does have a grand plan, even if we cant always see it.
It will be hard to do, I have been literly sick to my stomache all night. I see our livlyhood drying up, our traditions being taken and our safety flying out the window.
I honestly dont see a single person up there that represents me. Maybe my breed is dying out. Much like the pioneers of another era wouldnt fit in this world, soon I wont either.
But whats done is done and I cant change it. I did my part. Thats all that can be asked and done. I just pray that we can overcome what ever is coming our way.
Speaking of coming our way. My dad called a few days ago. He is coming in for Bow's first birthday. I cant belive its that time already. A year old. I honestly thought Rayley was going to be my last child, and was not ready for another one. he is no longer a baby, but a full fledged toddler. I look at him and am amazed at how time flies. Then I look at Brett and try to remember him being Bows age. I dont. I cant belive my kids are as grown as they are. Brett is over halfway through his 'at home' life. He is almost 10. Matt is right behind him. Both of them change every day. Learning more, becoming their own person. There are times when I look at them and dont even know who they are or what got them there. I realize that I dont have much more time to mold them into what they need to be. And I wonder what all I have screwed up. Rayley goes to school next year. Its hard to belive that she is already a kid. Not a baby. Not a toddler. But a little girl. And I really worry about her. There are times that the boys drive me crazy. Always in trouble, acting like hoodlums. Then I look over at her and realize, they are the least of my worries. All the appologies I have to give for my boys getting in trouble at school or on the bus are nothing compared to what I will have to do when that hellion graces them with her presence. She is going to set them on their ear.
I can honestly say that I am not looking forward to the future. In any shape or form.
Especially not the near future, where I have to clean the house from top to bottom, talk some idiot into taking this rabbit off my hands (cause he/she is driving me nuts), get ready for Bow's birthday, Thanksgiving, Bretts birthday and Christmas.
I guess I should turn off the TV and go on to bed. I need the sleep. I have to go to town tomorrow, which I dread.

Well Happy Freakin Halloween.
For MONTHS I have been getting together the kids costumes. I have drove all over, scoured goodwill and the Salvation Army, trying to put together or add to the costumes they had to have last year. BUT didnt get to wear. Cause they got in a BUNCH of trouble the week of Halloween.
I was SOOO looking forward to this year. I LOVE halloween. I planned on taking the kids to various realitives houses, then to a carnival uptown.
I had let Rayley spend last night with my mom, so at 1:45 I went to get her. When I got home there was a missed call from the school. So, I called my voicemail. After going through 24 messages I got to the important one. Brett had recieved his 3rd bus referal for misbehavior and was being suspended next week for 3 days.
I called the school back. The principal was busy. I fiqured this stemed from the altercation that Matt got in this week. He had came home and told me that he had hit a kid. Come to find out this is the kid that sliced Bretts finger last week with a broken pencil sharpener blade, (cut it pretty bad too), and the one that had ripped Bretts backpack earlier in the year, and was constantly kicking Matt and hitting him in the top of the head. The kid is in 5th grade. Well, he managed to kick Matt in or around the stomache on Wen. I think. And Matt popped him in the face, making his nose bleed.
BUT she had said BRETT. this happens alot. Brett actually got in trouble at school one year and was home sick that day. It was Matt in the first grade hallway, a teacher saw 'brett' down there, and when asked was told by 'Brett' that he was 'Matt' and supposed to be there. When pushed he swore he was (have I mentioned this kid has HIA syndrome and doesnt always 'get' things?) who he said he was. When she turned her back to tell some kids to quit running he ran. strait to class. This took alot of straiting out. She didnt see him disapear into the crowd, he never said a word and she couldnt 'find Brett' again. So she told on him. Easily fixed.
BUT the principal also said "this is his 3rd write up". UHHHH NO. I have NOT heard a SINGLE thing from the school. Granted, there had been a few issues, but with out school intervention I wasnt worried about it just yet. My boys aint angels and I am sure they were doing something to instigate or at least agervate this 5th grader.
SOOOOO. She calls me back. I told her that I had NO knowledge of these write ups and to my knowledge I always have to sign and return ANY write ups that they recieve. Had I known they were already in trouble I could have taken measures to stop the behavior. But, this was the first I had heard about any problems.
Oh yes, she assured me, they were in her office just yesterday. Both boys. I told her I knew nothing. And she wanted to know why they wouldnt tell me. Uhhhhh Cause they are boys, they aint that dumb and they KNOW they would get in trouble.
I said they wernt perfect. But they are smarter than your average bear. So then she said "well, Brett mentioned it would be a problem being driven into school"
Uhhh yep. I aint wastin 100.00 to drive him back and forth. he can stay here and work his rear off instead.
She did admit that she was lax in not following up on their previous reports. And I agree'd. There is NO way that I could have gotten away with not giving over a note as a kid. If it didnt come back the NEXT day, they were calling. I know. I tried that ONCE. on a paper I had failed that had to be signed. I never tried it again. But come to find out, they had also been in back in September. No note then either.
Well today Brett had gotten in trouble wiht out Matt. I am sure he did it. The first two were for bouncing around in the seat and throwing paper balls. Today was cause a girl had set in his seat and when he got on and told her to move out of his assigned seat (which I am sure he did) she got up and moved. But apparently he assisted her in moving. And then the bus driver told him to come up front and he ignored him. (both boys swear he never said to come up front) so the bus driver stopped the bus and walked back to get him. On the way he 'spoke' to some friends. I will take this as he was being a brat and showing off.
Anyway, she recinded the suspension. this time. So when BR woke up I told him. I also told him what I thought should happen punishment wise. I asked him to take care of it for me.
They dont really listen to me, they do, but NOT like they do their daddy. when he speaks they listen. When I speak they pretend to listen. Unless I twist off. Now they are semi good. And in their defence I do boss them around alot. Go brush your teeth, go to bed, do your homework, dont talk, answer me, dont do that, quit fighting, be nice to your sister, get your brother, dont holler in the house, take off your shoes, get dressed, get up, eat supper, go outside, be quiet, dont run in the house, clean your room, put up these clothes, feed the dog, feed the rabbit, pick up your dishes, bring me your dirty clothes, put up your shoes, find your homework, pick up the bathroom, quit playing in the kitchen... you get the picture.
SO, they came home. I was already getting the younger kids ready to go Trick or Treating. Brett jumped right in to help me. I asked about the notes that the principal promised to send home. I tried to find out what had happened. Of course it wasnt their faults, they were innocent, and everyone else was throwing paper too.
Then BR came out of the shower. He asked questions, got told "I didnt do it" and "I dont know" alot. Finally he got to the bottom of it. ANd took away Halloween. That was it, some hollerin, some griping and taking away Halloween. I had requested a slightly differnt punishment.
I could have pinched their little heads off. Easily. I LOVE halloween. and this is the second year in a row they have pulled something stupid.
Well, although it wasnt as much as I wanted for them, I just kept my mouth shut.
I loaded up the kids, took BR to his semi (his truck is still in the shop) and started Rayley and Bow trick or treating. We just went to familys houses. I made the boys sit in the truck. They were not to MOVE for fear of loosing a limb.
all the greats wanted to know where the boys were. I would tell them. Then they wanted to know if they could have their candy. I would say no. Then they would have to go out and love on them.
Our last house was my mother in laws. SHe had just left, we had passed her on the road. but my father in law was there. Rayley and Bow got out and we went up and talked to him for a few minutes. Then she drove back up. She asked about the boys. I told her. we chatted a few minutes and then she went to talk to them. she was out there about 5 minutes and then started back up. Next thing I hear is a truck door shutting.
I looked around, the boys were unloading themselves from the truck.
"what are you doing?"
Silence
"what are you doing?"
"me me said we could get out"
"did I say you could get out?"
They got back in.
In the meantime my sister in law called. Her teenage daughter had made the kids brownies and cupcakes and such. She is SOOOO good at decorating. I tried to take some pictures, but they didnt turn out. PLUS I was scheduled to meet her at my house later and she was going to take pictures. I told her to come over when ever and explained the situation. She said she would be here at 8.
So at 9:30 Lisa showed up. I had decided to dress the boys in their costumes. They were NOT supposed to have fun, just to sit there, shut up and take the pictures. After about 15 minutes they were rambunctious as they could be. But when she showed up we got down to business. I had spent too much time to miss this photo op. So we were going to do it.
Here they are:
Incase you dont reocognize them, this is
Davey Jones, Holding Jack the monkey, Elizabeth Swann, and Jack Sparrow.
plus a closeup of Jack. (the human not the monkey)

and NO, he is NOT a bear. He is a monkey. He has a tail behind him somewhere.
And we did NOT pose Matt, he not only had the movements down, he had the VOICE of Jack Sparrow down. and was quoting the movie all night in what ever fit the situation best. Brett played the part of Davey Jones to a T. If I hear "DO YOU FEAR DEATH" again I just might show them the fear of death.
I know they had fun dressing up, but it was a 30 minute thing and they are NOT getting any of the candy, and the costumes and all the toys that I found to accent them are already put up. But I couldnt miss this picrure. I just couldnt.
But I will have them make up for it tomorrow. I have walls that need scrubbing, floors that need a handwashing, laundry soap needs to be made, the yard cleaned, the rabbit cage cleaned, and a zillion other things. My dad will be in for Bows birthhday so I will need the free labor to get it all together.
I was SOOO looking forward to this year. I LOVE halloween. I planned on taking the kids to various realitives houses, then to a carnival uptown.

I am glad the week started, I need the rest.
Opening weekend. for kids.
This happens the weekend before season starts. and it means that I have to bust my butt to get everyone ready to go.
I had to find all their hunting clothes. wash them in special no smell soap, then put them in a sack with cut limbs and such, to mask any odors that didnt come out (back when I had time to hunt, I would take my book, or yatzee handheld game, Dr Pepper, some food, and smoke the whole time I was in a ladder stand. if you dont know what a ladder stand is, its a ladder, about 15 or more feet tall, leaned against a tree with a small, and I do mean SMALL, platform on it. if you fall asleep you take a chance at falling out. I always killed a deer). Then I have to wash their sheets, in the no smell stuff, keep them out of their room, till bedtime, make sure all the ammo, guns and accessories are readily avalible. Plus be up the next morning well before time to leave to make sure they are able to find everything that I have laid out.
Matt went first. We had high hopes, the deer cam is showing some good deer movements, of course its all at night, or mostly. They are coming back through around 9:30-10 am.
So Matt goes first. They came home at 8:45. Matt had seen a coyote. Not exactly something to fill the freezer with, but a blessing if we can kill them nonethe less.
Seems he got all nervous, plus he was COLD. it was in the low 50's. and was shaking like a leaf. He couldnt even get the gun up and shoot. SO BR took the gun, techincally, he cant kill a deer this weekend. BUT he can kill a coyote. he shot and missed. He said it was running off by the time he got the gun. OH did I mention that we only found 4 shells for the .410? the shotgun the kids were using? We have 40 rounds of squirrel shot, but only 4 slugs. and you need slugs to kill a deer.
So, they came home empty handed. Matt had decided he was ready to leave. He thought BR was mad at him. BR was not mad at him, but at himself, for missing. He did bring the SD card from the camera home. And when he walked back down there 8 minutes later to put it back, he saw a deer at the feeder. I swear, 8 minutes.
In the meantime I had to go to the ER and get my mom. SHe has had a bad cold for a few weeks. She is a heavy smoker and has emphasema and on Friday started feeling realy bad, and couldnt breathe. I wanted to take her to the DR then, but she wouldnt go, BR was home for the night and I could leave the kids with him. Around 2 or 3 am she called me in a panic. She was not able to breathe. I calmed her down, and tried to get her to breathe in a paper sack. But she said she was doing a little better. I offered at that time to take her in. She said no. She called back at 5 to get the phone number to call an ambulance. By then BR and Matt were getting ready to go hunting, and I couldnt ask them to stay and take care of the other 3 kids. So she went in by ambulance, which was best, She needed oxygen the whole way.
Anyway, I was waiting around for her to call, when she did I went in and got her.
Then I came home, and we watched the TExas Tech game. Rayley wanted to go hunting, and was upset when she heard the schedule. it was Matt on Saturday morning, Brett Sat. eve, Brett Sun morning and Matt Sun eve. I told her that her daddy would take her on Sunday afternoon.
This appeased her, and she got over having missed the costume party we were supposed to go to on Saturday but had missed cause I had to run in to town already.
They had been looking forward to the chance to wear their costumes more than once.
Anyway, We watched the game. Then BR took Brett out, it was around 4, and they were staying till dark. They showed back up well before dark. Brett had fallen asleep for about an hour and wouldnt sit still.
The next day Brett got up and they went out. They came back around 9. After talking for a little while, and looking at the pictures and seeing that the deer were coming in later cause of the cold snap, they decided to go back out for an hour or two.
About 20 minutes later they were back. To get Matt. Rayley was waiting for her turn, and somehow it was decided I would get to take her. Anyway, they came in to get him, so he could help them search for the deer. Seems Brett had seen one. He actually spotted it. And BR had told him to stand up, get ready, and Brett had tried and tried to shoot it. He kept asking "now?" "Now?". and finally BR told him yes. They said that she never flagged, clenched up and took off. All signs of being hit. But after 30 minutes of searching there was no sign of blood. No hair, no nothing. So they had to accept that he had missed it. After walking all over out there it was decided that it would be best to not hunt that evening, since the deer wouldnt be back in more than likely anyway. This didnt make Matt happy. But we all settled in, had lunch (I am SOOO not used to this 'light' cooking... them calories add up QUICK!) and were watching the 'boys play.
Matt had just about convinced BR to take him out. BR knew they wouldnt see anything, but that was okay.
And the phone rang, BR's grandmother and aunt were at his moms and wanted to see the kids, so we loaded up and went over there for a little while.
We visited for a while, Bow showed off his new walking skill, and used all his cute tricks, convencing them he is an adorable baby, and not a hellion.
As we were leaving, BR had decided it was time to get back so Matt could hunt a little, my phone rang, it was our mechanic. He had a few minutes and was willing to meet us at my grandfathers where BR's truck was parked. To see if he could do something to get it going so we could get it in to him.
5 minutes later they popped the hood and with in 2 minutes he had decided it was the fuel pump. But wanted to make sure. He got under it, started hitting the fuel tank, while BR turned the key. The dang thing started right up.
We have to take it in later this week. that and the oil pump need changing. a cool 400.00.
While he was there, I asked him about my front end popping when I was in a parking lot turning. He looked, had BR shake the truck, and told me to bring it in next week. He would change out some dang barings, or balls, or something. All I heard was "do one, may as well do the other" "600.00" and "will eat your tires" OH and "just a little longer before it screws something else up"
Well great! I know there is never a good time to have to drop a truck note into the truck, on TOP of the note, BUT dang... right here at Christmas?? seriously?
Anyway, we headed home. Brett wanted to try to shoot the .223 rifle. He had realized that the kick of a gun only hurts if you aint aimin at something. SO he was willin to give it another try. They shot a box full out of it. OH, did I mention while I was in town BR called. Telling me to pick up some .30-.30 shells? to put in the boys .410? yep. and some more .410 shells. well they were out of .410 shells. But were willing to take all my money for the .30-.30 shells.
Rayley went out to shoot with them. She was bound and determined to shoot the gun. Matt was happy with the .410. I bribed him with a snack ticket for lunch if he would shooot it just once. He did. But still swears that he will only use the .410.
So the whole weekend and not a single bite of fresh meat.
Then today, I went to town to deal wiht some stuff, and BR called. Seems he went out to sight in his gun. a .270, and make sure it was dead on. He 'lost' a box of shells. Literly. He shot them, but they didnt hit the target. So he double checked the scope. turns out he didnt finish seating a screw or some such crap. so it was off. he wanted me to pick him up 2 more boxes. I went in to get them. 26.00. For 12 shells. Talk about sticker shock.. I about had a heart attack right there.
Something better come out of this season. we got NOTHING last season. and spent a fortune doing it.
I think the hardest part of all of it, is keeping the dogs in. We have pictures of them (from the camera, I swear, this is the cheapest form of entertainment I have ever gotten for anyone. I paid less for this than I did Deisel to drive the hour to get it and its given hours and hours of enjoyment) anywy, there are pics of them down there all in the corn and such. and when BR goes out with a gun, Duke knows he is hunting. He thinks he is squirrel hunting, but he still wants to go. So I have to deal with them in here, along with the kids that are not hunting at the time.
OH, and the rabbit is doing great. I guess. But it has opened doors for other 'projects'. Brett and Matt came running up to the house a few weeks ago. They came in, went in their room, walked around, got a lecture from me.
I had gotten a phonecall from my grandfather, he had went to church and no less than a handful of little old ladies had told him to call me and tell me my kids were hanging on the fence on the side of the road. First of all, we sit 25 feet from the road, up on a hill. with a very large gulley between us and the highway. Second, they were on MY FENCE. INSIDE the pasture.
He told me they were saying "even that little girl was hanging up there waving", or "they were running up and down the fence line, that girl throwing rocks at them"
So he called. Well the lecture was they aint supposed to be climbin my fence. It breaks it down. I aint a fan of strechin fence.
Anyway, I lectured, they got a drink, talked for a few minutes. Finally I realized Brett had something in his hand. I am used to the lizards and such being brought in. SO I told him, to take his new friend out and get rid of it. I didnt need another lizard in here.
"OH MOM!" "I forgot"
"forgot what?"
"you still have some baby rabbit milk right?"
"yes"
"well, you need to take care of this one too"
and he holds up his hands
"Duke and Darla found the nest, and we saved this one, isnt it sweet?"
"Brett, I dont want anything else I have to take care of"
"but mom, its eyes aint even open yet!"
"BRett, if its eyes are not open, the chances of it living are VERY slim. take it back, put the nest back together as good as you can, and leave it. Its mom will come back"
"but mom!! I think you could do it!"
"take it back"
so Matt says "show it to her, she will fall in love and let us keep it"
damn, I hate it when my kids outsmart me
So he opened his hands.
and there is a long naked tail, and a nasty pink body. He had found a rat!!
14 years and I reckon I cant complain
But I will anyway.
Okay, technically this should start on Tuesday night. I had taken BR to his truck at 5:30, then went to baseball practice and the 4H meeting. Where I got them signed up for shooting sports and archery.
I told them they could do livestock next year. IF they start to show some responsibility this year. I told them they could do chickens or a rabbit next year. something small. Then move on to bigger livestock the next year. If they were still interested. I told BR about this, and he agree'd. BUT I am betting come next year he will have been asked by them and will change his mind and allow them to show a heifer or sow. I refuse to feed and clean up. And I refuse for them to get to show goats. Heck, during the meeting, when they were asking for parent volunteers to help with differnt segments Matt voluneteered me to head the goats. I had to graciously decline. HE said "but you know more about goats than anyone here mom, you used to run a goat buisiness." I told him to shush, and told them that we wouldnt be showing goats, that I was sorry.
THen I had to do a Lowes shop, and needed a few groceries. The kids almost drove me nuts in walmart. Between fighting amongst themselves and acting like idiots, and me not having my coupons and grocery list in top notch order. Anyway, we got home, unloaded, and the kids in bed. I cleaned a little, got Bow to sleep and laid down myself. I wasnt going to sleep, but was going to make sure Bow was down good, watch a little TV and then get my binder for all my coupons together. you wouldnt belive how much time this takes. I have weeks worth that are not filed yet, and its impossible to shop. BUT I cant do it when Bow is awake. ANYWAY, I managed to fall asleep. Dang head cold is whoopin me. So, at 1:30 BR called. I had to go and get him. His pickup is broken again, (every since the new engine was put in its been nothing but problems). I went down to my grandfathers and got him. Since I had woken Bow it took me hours to get him to sleep. THen I had to get up at 5:30 to get the boys on the bus.
THis was Wen. BR got up at 10. he went down and got his SD card from the game camera. The coyote is back. but so is a HUGE buck. and a few spikes, and a few does. and this time we got 2 turkeys!!
I spent half the day showing him again how to put them on the computer. Oh and Did I say it was my anniversary? 14 years. TUesday was the 16th anniversary of when we started dating.
I took him to his truck at about 5. The kids had gotten home and he talked to them a few minutes then we put up all the lawn chairs and stuff from last saturday. The kids went in to do the rest of their homework from the week. Once I got him dropped off I came home, cooked another supper (I had cooked earlier for BR), then I tried to get the living room and kitchen clean. Granted I had cleaned the kitchen already once. Of course that doesnt help, there was a whole other load of dishes, the table was stacked and it was a mess. BUT, I had also done about 5 loads of laundry. It was in here in baskets.
I had to put up with the kids whining about their homework for nigh on an hour. They just couldnt understand the problems, didnt know why they had to do it all tonight (its given to them on Mondays, they have to have it done by Thursdays, so I make them pick a little to do each night), it was just the normal whining they do every time.
BR called. He asked what I was doing. I told him trying to fight the kids and clean. Bow was just following me hollering and crying. He wants me to hold him or tote him every step I take.
So BR told me to wait until they were all asleep and THEN clean. I tried to explain that by the time I got them to sleep, I was too tired to screw with cleaning and laundry on the scale that I had to do it. PLUS, Bow is spoilt. to the point of stinkin like day old fish. Yes, I could get up and clean after he goes to sleep. BUT, if I am in the kitchen or walking around and he opens his eyes and doesnt see me, he is awake. and I have to deal with him again. He doesnt have a bed. He sleeps where I sleep.
So, although I can do a little once he is alseep, it never lasts for long. He doesnt sleep deep. He wakes up at the slightest noise. If I catch him before he sits up or starts to cry I can soothe him back, if I dont, I have to deal with him for how ever long.
PLUS, I just wanted it cleaned. THEN. Not later.
I had plans for later. Like my coupons. That I have been trying to get to for WEEKS.
Finally I got the living room half clean, all the laundry folded and put up (the kids actually volunteered to help a little... VERY little), and had JUST vaccumed, when Duke got up and walked to the middle of the living room floor (he was in cause he is SCARED of storms, usually I dont let them in till dark, when the kids are asleep), and PUKED. all in the floor. This starts a chain reaction. Bow wants to play in it, Matt starts to gag, Brett starts to run around freaking out, and Rayley starts crying cause the dog is going to die.
Once I cleaned all THAT up, and got the kids into bed I settled in.
Bow had had a blast while I did laundry, he threw half the clothes on the floor, would climb into the basket and play peek a boo, tried to put on most everything he came across, and just played and played. He really has this peek a boo thing down pat. Its all he wants to do.
Then BR called back at 9. said his truck had another exhaust leak and he had to come home. He wanted to leave it at the yard, so I had to drive the 8 miles to the yard to get him. BRett and Matt were in bed, but not asleep, and Bow had just dozed off. I gathered up all the kids, took them out in the pouring rain, and we drove over there. It was raining so hard there were times I couldnt drive over 40. and I was having to drive with my tires on the center stripe, cause it was coming down so hard that it was sitting in the grooves in the highway where all the tires drive. The road is pretty dead at night. Its just a farm to market road. I met maybe one car. I got him, He was soaking wet, and we started back. It never stoped raining. We got home and I got all the kids into bed again. Except Bow, he was up for a while. We watched some TV and both fell asleep in the living room. I got up this morning at 5:30, and was starting to wake up the boys, sat down at the kitchen table and ended up falling back asleep. at 6:09 I woke up. They have to be AT the bus stop no later than 6:15. The bus comes around 6:18. IF everything is running right. Just one kid missing it and he gets ahead by a few minutes. I jumped up, got them up, they threw on their clothes, brushed their teeth and we hauled butt to the end of the driveway. They made it just in time. LITERLY!
I wont be able to do this next year with Rayley. You cant get a girl ready in mere seconds.
I came back home, and went to climb back into bed. Well Bow was laid sidways on my side. So I got at the foot of the bed, got comfy and closed my eyes. BR jumped up started slappin me on the leg and tellin me it was 6:22. I told him I knew it was. I just got back. I dont know how bow didnt wake up during this, but he didnt. I was SOOO relieved.
I slept till 8:30. thats when Rayley showed up wanting food. and woke up bow. I got up, came in here, and started my day. Then BR woke up, He wanted to go to Lufkin and get the boys some camoflauge pants for hunting season that starts this weekend. BUT he put it this way "Hey, I know you have been wanting to go to Kmart and use your coupons for that makeup, why dont we go up there and get that, it wont hurt to get the boys some camoflauge pants too"
awww how sweet. He knows I wont waste the gas to go and get 100.00 worth of cheap makeup.
SO I got Rayley and Bow, and myself dressed. Then found HIM some clothes. He also dumped the ONE basket I didnt fold or put up all over my bed. It was slap full of socks. I mean SLAP full. He dug all through them, even though the only socks NOT in it were his, I had taken all of them out and put them in a differnt basket. When I went in the bedroom about an hour ago, they were STILL on thebed. you watch, he is going to come home, throw them all on the floor and act like nothing ever happened..
Anyway, to lufkin we went. I found the boys some pants. ON SALE. and then went to Kmart. They were having a Buy one get one free sale on Max Factor make up. This stuff is like 6.99 to 10.99 for thing of eye shadow or a tube of lipstick. a BOGO sale on it is GREAT. you are actually getting each one for 1/2 price. Since I balk at buying makeup this should be a good deal. BUT even 4.00 is too much if you ask me for lipstick. SO, I took in my 6 Buy one get one free coupons for make up and 4 Buy one get one free coupons for lipwear. I left there with 4 mascera's 2 powders, 4 lipsticks, 4 foundations, 2 eyeshadows, 2 powders and 2 blushes and 2.15 cents. They owed me. I kid you not, 177.50 worth of make up and they paid me to take it.
I did give them back the 2.15 though. BR had found a coyote call in the sporting good section, so I got an 8.99 cent call for 6.49 after tax..
anyway, we came home and I took BR back to his truck. as I came in the phone was ringing. I tried to grab t, But it went to voicemail before I could get to it. I hate this voice mail. I dont want it, but to get caller ID, call forwarding and call waiting its cheaper to get the package. SO I tell folks on the voicemail to NOT leave a message, I never check it.
Since it was the police station calling, I decided to call right back, then realized, I wouldnt know who to ask for. I decided to check the voicemail. There were 20 messages. 15 from imediate family. They know I dont check it. I tell them weekly NOT to leave a message, I dont check it. I forget I have it.
Anyway, turns out it was a friend of mine who works at the station, reminding me about her daughters party. BUT the message BEFORE hers caught me unaware. The school had called at 8:15. Matt was sick, his head hurt and he was crying. Could I call themback? Uhhh No. it was 4:27. They should be off the bus in 20 minutes. I waited till he got home and told him I was sorry, I never got the message. And why didnt they call back? Come to find out, he took a nap, ate and then felt better so he went back to class. They didnt try to call my cell phone, they never tried to call back and I never heard the phone ring here. I also didnt know I had a message waiting. There is no indicater. Its just call it 80 times a day and see if there is any messages I reckon.
anyway, he lived, but when where they going to go on down my list of contacts? when he started puking blood?
Now, I have some stupid crap I have to do on the computer. ITs all about that big bad secret I been hinting at. Plus, its time for the kids to go to bed. Rayley has been cleaning her room for 4 days. It still looks as bad as when she started... LOL
PLUS I plan on doing my coupons TONIGHT. The rabbit cage is cleaned, the litter boxes are clean, and the kitchen can kiss my rear for the night.
Okay, technically this should start on Tuesday night. I had taken BR to his truck at 5:30, then went to baseball practice and the 4H meeting. Where I got them signed up for shooting sports and archery.

Good news, Bad news and the pictures to prove it!
Howdy folks :)
We had a busy week and weekend. The drama I spoke about last week is still ongoing. It will get worse before it gets better. But I am starting to look forward to its conclusion. I spent quite a few days working on that. And then I had to drive to Lufkin one day to get Bow's costume. I found one that was supposed to be larger. Unfortunatly it is the same size. But I will squeeze his little fat self into it.
I also picked up BR's birthday present. I got him a game camera. We went out and set it up yesterday, before his siblings came over.
3 of the 4 of them were born in October. The 18th (BR) the 22nd (luke) and the 24th (lisa). Plus our 16 year anniversary is the 21st (the day we started dating) and our 14th weddin anniversary is the 22nd. And Toby's stepson's birthday is also the 18th. He turned 7.
of course my mother in law picked up the cake for me. And had them write Happy Birthday. Of course it came in saying "Happy Birthday Lisa, BR, Luke and Toby". Why did she need to put Toby on there? he is the baby, I understand that, but at 25 I am quite sure he would understand his birthday is in August and NOT October. and wouldnt feel left out. Notice an actual child left off? I was SOOOO pissed.
Anyway, BR and I had cooked all day, Brisket and pork rib things and tater salad, the whole nine yards. Toby and Suzie decided to go to Houston instead, and Luke and Amanda just didnt show up. Lisa and Gavin did come, as did Elray and Martha, plus my mom. It wasnt anything fancy, we do this a few times a year. But I am already tired of eating brisket and tater salad. LOL
Today was just a lazy day. BR and I watched the cowboys on TV. Not sure what in the hell they are doing. But they got my blood pressure up and going. and I moved a computer over to hubby's lazyboy. I hid the tower and gave him a wireless mouse and a TV tray to put the flat screen monitor on. That way he can hide it when he is done. A friend called when I was doing it and I told her it was so that I could show BR how to bring up the pictures from the SD card that goes in his game camera, I wanted to make it easy on him, he always gets mad cause when he gets on my computer he cant ever find a window to use, or says I have too many open, or what ever. THis is just easier for him. He heard me telling her and said "tell it like it is, you just really dont want me screwing up YOUR computer". Its nice when he understands. :)
Bow has spent the day walking all over, and spent last night and yesterday eating dirt and sticks and rocks. He LOVES being outside. the tastes, the smells and the dirt under his fingers. Plus getting to be pushed around on the kids old riding toys.
We built a fire and sat around and visited for a while. Its sad when you get so old that this is your enjoyment for the year! LOL
Anyway, BR went and checked his game camera this morning, bringin me the card. I showed him how to bring up the pics and other than the 9 of me (gosh I look old in close ups...) fixing it and tying it to the tree, plus walking around seeing where you set it off, there were about 10 of these. 2 of the eyes at 7:48 pm

and then this at 8:40PM.

I am SOOOO ticked off. When we went to put it down there there was deer tracks everywhere. big ones, little ones, does, fawns and bucks. This is RIGHT behind the house. it takes less than 4 minutes to walk down there.
and another one (I can tell, cause its fatter) came at 4:30am. then one came at 5:08am..
But after BR set the pics up as the screen saver on his puter and stared at it for a few hours, he called me over. and had me 'REALLY -- REALLY' look at the eyes pics. this is what we saw.

its a doe and a fawn!!
So, I am sorta happy. My first thoughts are still that the damn coyote has to GO. I DONT like them near here. I dont know where the pack is. It was about this time last year (matter of fact, it was EXACTLY this time last year now that I think of it) that they were RIGHT in my yard. right behind my burn barrel, which is about 15 feet from my door. Attacking my dog. BR said he would have a hard time killing it. They are not easy. I dont care. I want it and any friends it has GONE. We cant trap it, either live trap or death trap. My idiot female dog will get in the trap. or my old dog. I have to fiqure out something though. We will see what the next few nights bring. If it comes down to it, I will start sitting out there and waiting for it. I'd rather meet it on my terms than have to run out and try to hold a gun, a flash light (at 9 months pregnant I might add) and hear the awful cackiling they do when they are attacking and hunting my dogs. That is the MOST erie sound, I still get chills thinking about it. My mother and father in law have one that comes right up in their yard. I am so scared that one day it will get one of their dogs, or my pig. He is still over there.
anyway, this is what has happend here this week. Other than PTA stuff and a marathon cleaning session for the BBQ we havent done much. Now that I have the laundry done (the boys told me at 8:40, AFTER they had been in bed for 20 minutes) that they needed jeans for tomorrow... I could have killed them!
I'll keep you posted on my coyote issue.

OH I am SOOO sorry!!
Gosh, has it really been a month?
Almost. And to be honest, I had forgotten about blogging. Do you ever forget to do something one time and it just compounds? I literly forgot that I even had a blog, till Kimmey and Dot reminded me! Thank y'all! :)
Of course, I am pretty much been in a bad mood for a few weeks, so you probebly didnt want me blogging. Dont know why. I just cant seem to get it all together. I think I am suffering from 'surrounded by idiots' syndrome. I would have done nothing but whine and complain the whole time.
Plus I have been watching the news all day every day. From the time I wake up till the time I go to bed. I cant get over the ignorance of people. The selective hearing and the lack of actually thinking about what they hear BEFORE they accept it as fact.
I dont know what direction this country is going to go in on Nov 4th. But I will be honest, it scares me. I think either way it goes we are in for some crap.
The bunny is doing great. He is growing. or maybe its a she. I aint real sure. But he/she keeps getting out of her/his cage and running through the house and hiding. NOT a good thing. The dogs see a tasty treat, and the cat just tries to play. I dont think she would hurt it, she doesnt even know what it is. And for something tha weighs less than a 1/4 of a pound this little sucker can go through some cabbage and carrots. Not to mention I had to buy it a bag of timothy hay. (cause I aint sure what all vitamins it should be getting, and I needed a good source of them) This bag is about the size of a bag of taters. doesnt WEiGH as much, but is that size. It cost 3.27. Not a big deal you say. I wont even buy a 60 lb bale of hay for my horses for that.
Brett is doing great in School, aside from getting demerits by the handful every week. He has 2 differnt teachers, one in the morning, She will be retiring this year, although she doesnt know it yet. And one in the afternoon, she is brand new. In one class he never gets in trouble. Oh, he does stupid crap, and I get told about it, but not 5 demerits in ONE day. She will call me, or catch me in the hall and I will deal with it, this is not to say that she wont give him a demerit, but she is so laid back and easy going. As long as you do your work, your good. In the other class He gets in trouble for talking, for looking at her funny, for staring off into space, for singing, for asking questions, for not asking questions, for talking to his friends, for ... all kinds of crap. can you guess which one he gets in trouble wiht ?? But, sadly he is not the only one. There is a few other kids that I know their moms. They are both freaking because their kids who NEVER get in trouble have gotten more demerits in 6 weeks than they have ever gotten in a year.
Oh and the reason that his teacher will retire this year? Every teacher Brett has ever had has retired, moved, or decided to teach special ed or toutoring type classes. Seriously.
Kindergarten, a teaching vetran, beloved by all, taught my brother in law. Quit and started doing ESL.
1st grade, SWEET heart. Young, happy, full of life, great with the kids. Moved plumb out of the county.
2nd grade, SO nice, never had a problem with him at all. Been teaching a while. knew her stuff and all the kids loved her. Quit and started doing Math Lab.
3rd Grade, she retired. They didnt get along real well.
I was thrilled with his homeroom teacher this year. I really like her, she is down to earth, a 'normal' person. Had a boy, so she knows they are a bubble off plumb, and her husband was the best bus driver we ever had. But it dawned on me one day, and I asked her if it was her last year. SHe said, she was due but wasnt sure if she wanted to retire yet. I told her that it would happen. Dont know why or how, but she would. She just laughed. I dont know if Brett gets to them by the end of the year and they cant handle it anymore, OR if the fear that there is another one just like him coming up behind him and they might accidently get him too just scares the living crap out of them.
Either way, this kid has a streak going.
But he did make A's and a B this 6 weeks. Not bad when one bad grade would bring you down 20 points. They only went to school like 14 days this 6 weeks. So there wasnt much work to grade. He also got student of the week. And its a good thing he got it at the begining of the year, cause he wont ever get it again!
Matt is ... Matt. I swear that kid doesnt have a serious bone in his body. He is quick. and goofy as hell. His teachers love him. They cant quit telling me all these stories about what he does. everything from trying to sneak his breakfast into his backpack to 'bring home and feed the coons' to rescueing a turtle on the playground and wanting to bring it home. Unfortunatly his homeroom teacher is having a difficult pregnancy and is having to quit for the year. He will have a sub, and one of the main canidates is the teacher that retired last year. He gets points off for talking too, but not near like Brett. He is still suffering from HIA syndrome. They have agenda's that they bring home every day. They have to copy down assignments from the board. Their teacher can write notes to me, and I write notes back. I check them daily. We do have him writing in it now. But I have to staple his homework to it. Otherwise he forgets to give it to his teacher. at least this way she gets it at the end of the day.
He too made A's and B's. well all A's and ONE B. an 80 in Language arts, cause he bombed a weekly grade. She said he was reading his library book all week when they were practicing the sentence structure or some such. I dont know, I was reading his report card while she was talking. He also had to have 2 molars pulled last week. Cost me 160.00. Talk about miserable. he was in some pain. He had a cavity between them. The other teeth are poised to come in, but not quite coming down yet. I am supposed to go and get a spacer put in. Not sure how much that will cost yet.
Rayley is doing fine. Her hair is NOT growin back though. Those boys have to have a hair cut every week. EVERY DAMN sunday. or they look like shaggy. She will still be bald in the front when she starts kindergarten. SHe is not sure about Bow yet. She loves him. But she also dislikes him ALOT. She is a pretty good child. Mean and bossy. But loving. And a slight Drama queen. She goes through clothes like theres no tommorow. I swear I do more laundry just cause she threw it on the floor than I do for all the others combined. She is smart. Too smart. and remembers things like you wouldnt belive.
Bow is starting to fit right in. He still bites. But only me. He is a bouncy baby. He NEVER sits still. EVER. Most of my family swears he has an affliction. Cause no matter what you do you cant get him to sit. Its like wrassilin a greased pig for 18 hours a day. He did start to walk. Last week. He had been walking while holding on to stuff for months. And climbin like a chimpanze for longer. But he started getting brave and took 6 steps towards his daddy. For nothing more than food. I swear that kid would crawl over broken glass for food. He weighs 21 pounds and 14 oz. He is a CHUNK!
This is actually this first child I have had that has worn the correct size or larger than the month on the clothes. Rayley was pert near 2 before she started wearin 12 months!
Aside from walkin, and squealin, and hollerin and bitin I reckon this kid aint all bad. it could be worse. He is still always puttin stuff in his mouth. ALL the time. Nothing is safe. And if the cat could talk she would call the humane society and have herself removed. Or at least I think she would. He will lay on her, waller, pull, push, pinch, tug and drag, and she will lay there. Then I will get him off of her, pick her up and put her in another room and she will come right back and lay down beside him again.
BR was sitting here the other day and the kids had went outside, They are not capable of shutting a door, well most times they do pull it closed, but it has to click, they dont make it click. and Bow can open it. anyway, I was cleaning the kitchen and BR was sittin in here and talking to me across the room, Bow had opened the door and usually we will let him play at the glass for a few minutes, but now he has learned to open the storm door. BR heard the door shut and he was headed out. He got him before he went down the steps. He was standing on the porch just a wavin at the kids and squealin.
He doesnt talk, oh he babbles. saying dad, and yes, and now. and we have heard him say ice cream, stop that, and I did it. But its never like a conversation.
And if you tell him NOT to do something he will do it and then turn around and smile at you. or if you tell him no and either move his hand from something or pop it he will holler at you and do it again. Literly until you are laughing so hard you cant keep up the discipline and saying no, so you have to move him.
He would also LOVE to get ahold of the bunny.. He just loves it so much, and wants to just hold and squeeze it. Luckily he has never had the oppertunity.
BR has switched his workng hours again. He is now working from about 10pm to well into the next day. So he sleeps the afternoon. Its so freakin hard to keep the kids quiet during the day. And even harder when the boys get home at 5. thats another reason I have failed to blog. By the time he leaves I have to do my housework and such and go to sleep. When he first started he went in at 4. Then it was 2. Then it went to 3. And then to noon.
Tonight he was getting ready to go to work and taking a shower. I went in to talk to him and Bow followed behind. Then Rayley came running in, saying something about Brett choking Matt, so I came back in here, they had been fighting, but not actually attempting homicide. I took away the catalog they were fighting over, tore it up and threw it away, then headed back into the bathroom, as I walked in I saw Bow diapered butt disapearing into the shower and BR shutting the glass door. He was still wearing a shirt.
So he played in there for a few minutes and then BR finally kicked him out. come to find out he had opened the door and went on in. BR was in the middle of shaving and couldnt really stop him. as he handed him over he also informed me that he was a tad stinky. So not only did I have a sopping wet baby, with a sopping wet T shirt and diaper, but it was a full diaper.
I guess in a nutshell that is what has been going on the last few weeks. Oh I spent time at the school making mums, My father in law had a slight health scare, ( he is okay, they put in a stint and have drastically changed his diet), I have been trying to learn how to cook healthy food. Apparently not everyone fries tomoatoes, squash and pork chops- and there are uses for lettuce other than to put beside the bacon on a BLT or the patty on a cheeseburger. AND you can BAKE chicken. I dont always fry it, sometimes I put it in a pot of boiling water, and add lots of lumps of gooey dough and salt. But it sure is good when you fry it and then smother it with gravey. BR wants to loose some weight and try to stay alive past 40. Which means I have gained 5 pounds. cause I go to the store and the more healthy food I buy I shove snacks, and cookies and donuts in the buggy. Then I realize how cruel it will be to take them home, so I eat them in the parking lot before I leave.
I have sucsessfully helped him loose weight in the past. But it was on weird diets, like the grapefruit diet. Specific instructions. and the goal wasnt nigh on triple digets. Now I am trying to count calories. and cut out the bread. (apparently makin a pan of biscuts or a pone of cornbread with every meal adds weight to your butt.) See I dont have to eat 3 meals a day. I can and usually do eat just one. or snack all day and not eat at all. I am too lazy to get up and make something. But he wants to eat. And these little meals that you get in those cookbooks, where it says it will serve 8? Yeah. if you make every dish in the chapter.
Oh sorry, I was making excuses.. I also have just been lazy, nothing spectacular, just not doing anything, BR's truck broke down again, (remind me to bitch about that later...), we spent days outside cleaning up, only to stack it on the trailer and leave it there, we have been setting up deer stands (during one move, I climbed up 20 feet and onto a platform to come face to face with an angry mob of wasps.. did I mention I am alergic?, We got rid of them, so I had to go up and get the ratchet straps off and then on my way down, the ladder kinda smushed together at a joint and scared the living daylights out of me, I was still shaking 2 days later, and we had to bring it somewhere else so I could go back up in it and attach it to a differnt tree), and a thousand other insignificant things that someone, somewhere wanted, or needed. OH yea! I have been getting together the kids halloween costumes. Thats been a CHORE! But I think it will be cute. I do have one more trip to make tomorrow, and if all goes as planned they will be good to go.
OH, I did get some bad news. Nothing major, but my town might be in the news before long. LOL, Seems someone that was trusted, by me and others, has not been on the up and up. Its very sad really. I had actually lost faith in this person years ago, after an incident that hurt me deeply. I kept in touch, and was still friendly, but not the all trusting and sweet soul we all know I can be.. So,anyway... although I knew they were out for number one, I didnt know just how far they would go. But its a sad day for us, for something very near and dear to me, and a disapointing day for me and many others. Sometimes you have to wonder what people are thinking when they do the things they do. But everytime I would reflect back to what was done to me, I always thought "what goes around comes around" But honestly, I never really thought the tenfold part was true. If all of this comes to light and it will, my 'prediction' will be true. But alas, I shouldnt be talking of this yet. When it hits the papers I will be sure to link to it.
Thanks to everyone for checking back on me. And I am sorry to leave y'all hanging. Its just been kinda weird, between me being lazy, a few monkey wrenches thrown in, and my kids being abnormally good, I just forgot about this place, and really didnt have alot to write about anyway.. I already said the kids were abnormally good.

Just a little funny
My dad sent this to me. He got it in email.
What I learned during the hurricane season
1. Coffee and frozen pizzas can be made on a BBQ grill.
2. No matter how many times you flick the switch, lights don't work without electricity.
3. Kids can survive 4 plus days without a video game controller in their hands.
4. Cats are really irritating without power.
5. He who has the biggest generator wins.
6. Women can actually survive without doing their hair--you just wish they weren't around you.
7. A new method of non-lethal torture - showers without hot water. This is for the lucky ones on city water. If you have a well and no generator, it's time to bathe in the pool!
8. TV is an addiction and the withdrawal symptoms are painful.
9. A 7 lb bag of ice will chill 6-12 oz Budweiser's to a drinkable temperature in 11 minutes, and still keep a 14-pound turkey frozen for 8 more hours..
10. There are a lot of trees around here.
11. Flood plan drawings on some mortgage documents were seriously wrong.
12. Contrary to most natives' beliefs, the speed limit on roads without traffic lights does not increase.
13. Aluminum siding, while aesthetically pleasing, is definitely not required to keep your house standing, and during wind surges becomes flying weapons.
14. Just because you're over 21 doesn't mean you can stay out as late as you want. At least that's what the cops told me during a curfew stop.
15. Crickets can increase their volume to overcome the sound of 14 generators.
16. People will get into a line that has already formed without having any idea what the line is for.
17. When required, most any vehicle will float--doesn' t steer well, but floats just the same.
18. Hurricanes do keep the mailman from his appointed rounds.
19. Tele-marketers function no matter what the weather is doing.
20. Cell phones sometimes work when land lines are down, but only as long as the battery remains charged.
21. Twenty-seven of your neighbors are fed from a different transformer than you, and they are quick to point that out!
22. Laundry hampers were not made to contain such a volume.
23. If I had a store that sold only ice, chainsaws, gas, and generators.. .I'd be rich.
24. The price of a bag of ice rises 200% after a hurricane.
25. Your water front property can quickly become someone else's fishing hole.
26. Tree service companies are under appreciated.
27. MATH 101: 30 days in month, minus 6 days without power equals 30% higher electric bill ?????
28. Drywall is a compound word, take away the 'dry' part and it's worthless..
29. An oak tree on the ground looks four times bigger than it did standing up.
30. When house hunting, look for closets with lots of leg room.
31. AA, C and D are the only alphabet we need (think batteries).
32. Chainsaw-wielding- men are nothing to be afraid of.
33. You can't spell 'priceless' without I-C-E.
34. Gasoline is a value at any price.
35. Candlelight is better than botox. It takes years off your appearance.
36. No matter how hard the wind blows, roadside campaign signs will survive..
Now I have added a few.
37. There are levels of silence, peaceful, slightly annoying and then DEAD. This is the silence that wakes you at 3 in the morning when the generator runs out of gas.
38. There is no such thing as too much clean water.
39. All the no cook foods are the first to go, and everyone gets hungrier when there is no way to nuke something or buy more food.
40. Owning a tractor and a few chainsaws makes you an instant hero.
41. THe one peice of trash you hoped would blow off in your yard is the only thing that didnt. And someone somewhere has a nice set of patio furniture.
42. Rain can go sideways and it can even rain upside down.
43. a tank top and shorts, with flip flops ARE dressing up, if they match, in the aftermath of a hurricane, and acceptable for a funeral that cant wait until power is restored.
44. Your truck or car hood is a good place to sleep when the house never cools down under 87*.

48. You never have enough spark plugs, baby wipes, or Thermo cell cartridges (skeeter killers).
49. It is perfectly acceptable bathe in the lake. But limit yourself. Others need it too.
50. Kids dont learn, and will continue to get dirty and then cry when you make them take the ice cold torture showers.
And after showing it to a friend, she added a few too.
51 DO NOT under ANY circumstances chew or otherwise ingest the Gum in MRE's, it is a VERY potent laxative.
52. If you did in fact eat the gum, keep it to yourself you idiot.
53. Lawnmowers, power tools, and weedeaters do not survive a good soaking in salt water.
54 Boats will in fact float on a trailer, and break the trusses out of your garage roof.

56. If you find it in your yard, it is now yours, whether you wanted it or not.
57. Tetanus shots are painful, mostly after the fact.
58. Your furniture weighs a hell of a lot more when it is soaking wet and muddy.
59. The neighbors crap is ALWAYS better than your crap.

62. National guardsmen, electric lline workers, cable guys, and tree cutters are generaly kinda hot.
