5 Days till Christmas.

Sorry I have been MIA this week.
My dad left on Sunday, This time the kids and BR caught him. But I slept till 7.
I cleaned house, got everything ready for the coming week and was asked by BR if I was immulating Yankee staduim on the cake with that drain behind 2nd and shortstop...

He also told the kids we could do the tree today, if they cleaned their rooms. So they did. Gee, wish I had thought about that..

I told them it had to be quick, The 'boys were coming on today and I was GOIN to watch the game. with or with out a tree. and there would be NO treeing while I was watching th game.

I drug out all the boxes, got the tree together, and they proceeded to decorate it at 2 levels. Their heights.

I had forgotten the candy canes, So I still had to buy them, and thought it could use some more balls.

When it came game time I wanted some popcorn. I have a domed popcorn maker, you put grease in it and turn it on and it pops the corn. I searched the whole kitchen for it. EVERYWHERE. it was NO where to be found. I was betting the kids broke it and threw it away. It was old as dirt.
then starting at 5:30 monday morning I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off. Monday was the start of Jingle Bell Junction at the school.

I managed to get home shortly after 8 on Monday and was in bed by 12, I was starting to get a tickle in my throat and knew I had to nip it in the bud. But I had shopping to do. I needed candy canes, milk, bread, and found some unbreakable ornaments!! When I got home the kids wanted to help put it all on. So more stuff at their levels.. I will HAVE To fix that soon...

Then Tuesday I was back up by 5:30, got the kids off and dressed and headed back into town. We had to be at our 4H CHristmas Party at 6:30. BEfore I left the school my grandfather called. It was another of those 'long way around the barn' conversations.

Now mind you, I was trying to count the money for the day. and clean up the store, restock merchandise, and plan tomorrows strategy with the other worker. We had made enough today to pay off the bill of buying the stuff, so the next two days were pure gravey. That was SOOOO nice!
Then Gretchen Wilson starts to sing, and I have to answer the phone
"Yep" ( I very seldom say hello... )
"Are you picking the boys up from school?"
"yep, I will be getting them in about 5 minutes, why whats up?"
"where are you?"
"at school, but it will be 15 minutes, they dont get out till 3:15 why, whats up?"
"then what?"
" well, GO pick up Rayley from Daycare, (she went there that day, she LOVES daycare, and gets to go maybe 2 times a year...) walmart, I have to buy Secret Santa gifts for the kids party tonight, and refreshments, why, whats up?"
"what do you have to buy, for who?"
"The kids have a 4H party at 6:30, I have to buy 3 presents for the exchange, and drinks and cookies, its a BYOC, why, whats up?"
"whats a BYOC?"
"Bring your own COke, so, whats up?"
"I want to buy the boys some cowboy boots for Christmas"
"okey dokey"
"we are at Baksins, can you meet us here?"
"I reckon, but it will be a few minutes"
"Okay, well we want to buy the boys boots, and if they try them on we know they will fit"
"alright. Let me get done counting this money, get everything put up,and get Rayley and I will be there as soon as I can"

at 3:30 my phone rang again. I just answered by saying "I am on my way!!"
So I went and Got Rayley, then headed to the western store. The boys picked out boots, tried them on, walked around in them, and Rayley found some pink fat babies. 59.99. she fell in love. She wanted THOSE. Alright. Except Hunney was just buying the BOYS boots. His wife had bought Rayley some clothes weeks earlier. But she didnt grasp that. She just knows that when its shoe buying time, everyone gets a pair. So I told her I would make sure Santa knew. And we tried on a few differnt pair. Finally found the ones that fit, they wernt the ones she had fallen in love with, so I convinced her that I would pay for them and order them and she would get them.

She finally accepted this. There were no tears, no fit. She just didnt understand why she wasnt getting boots too. Since hers were too little, and the boys still fit. and she was right. HErs are too little, theirs DO still fit and I am afraid that at some point in the last month or 3 I have said "I know they dont fit baby, wear something else and maybe Santa will bring you some new Fat Babies"....

But it did put a kink in my plans. Cause I have already spent all the money I was spending for Christmas. I didnt actually buy them. I am going to try to get them a little cheaper at Academy next week.

We had fun at the party. I was able to buy the stuff we needed for the white elephant gift at baskins, and then a quick run into walmart for the soda and cookies and we were actually early.

Rayley is in Clover buds, I dont know what that means, but its the little kids, and
so they just put all their presents on a table. then drew numbers. She got a horse Puzzle. a hundred peicer.. She got it and hugged it and said "ohhh I love it! I have wanted one of these for years and years, I cant belive I was soooo lucky!!!"

But the older kids were a little differnt. They played the 'take it' game. Where the second person could take the first persons gift and give them the unopened one that they drew.

Brett drew halfway through, and got a hot pink lava lamp. He BEGGED someone to take it. Finally someone did. So he got handed an unopened gift , this time it was a set of lip gloss. A little girl ended up drawing the gift I had given. Stetson colonge and some other stuff. This is Matts ex girl friend, and she kept trying to talk him into taking it. Another little girl got a knife. everyone wanted the knife. But if someone took it, go and get it back instead of taking the 'wrapped' gift they traded for it, this is not how its supposed to work. But they just let it continue. It was just a free for all. Matt had tried to take the knife, as was his right. She imediatly took it back and gave him the unopened gift. Everytime it was a girls turn to draw he BEGGED them to take his lipgloss. Finally Brett ended up with a little pellet gun, I was thrilled when someone took it. Matt got stuck with a stuffed animal, then got back the cologne that I had bought. When it was all said and done, Matt was stuck iwth a remote contrlled Monster Truck, and BRett had that durn gun back.

Once we were done there I had to go home and get Bow from my moms, BR was already home from work, he was working days this week. It was after midnight before I got in bed, and I was to the point of regretting only bringing one dose of sudafed with me that day.

I woke up at 5:30 the next morning with a sudafed hangover, sick to my stomache from all the greasey pizza ( I ended up having to eat my kids pizza when they abandoned it for present time...) and a really sore throat. But didnt have time to dwadle.

I did a quick run through walgreens when I got out of school, then a quick milk and bread run to walmart. And I was home by 6. After 3 days of me not being home, my house was a freaking wreck. I am not real sure why or how. Noone else has been here either, But even 5 minutes is enough time for my 5 to make a place look like a tornado hit it. I did some laundry. The kids were out of Christmas shirts, and jeans, plus I had to wash dishes. And make a path through the living room.
the sudafed induced haze did NOT make it a productive night. I kept forgetting what I was doing. So I ended up with dirty dishes in the living room and on the dryer, folded clothes left on the kitchen table, and of course I put jeans in the towell cabinets. I did ask the kids if they had seen my popcorn bowl thingy. and they produced it. Seems that Rayley was using it as a boat for stuffed animals. I didnt ask why, I didnt even get into the "do I ever let you have MY dishes for toys?" discussion... When I fell into bed at 12:30 it was a blessing.

I didnt sleep well. Bow has had a really bad snotty nose since Sunday, and we have been fighting it. He didnt sleep well so he didnt let me. Rayley was feeling the effects of 77 to 30 degree weather changes too. She had been drainin all week. benadryl was not keeping up with it. And she climbed in the bed with us too.

Thursday was the last day of Jingle Bell Junction, Plus it was the day for the kids parties.

The first thing I had to do was go to EACH classroom. We had sold some Dallas Cowboys gold money clips. well there was 6 of them. When we sold the last one we realized, someone had gotten the display box. An empty display box. So I went around to all the class' and did the Vanna White thing. "who bought a Cowboys money clip for dad or grandpa?"

4 kids said they did. It was the 4 I had already checked out. Well 5 kids. but 2 of them were mine and we only got one money clip. Those had all made it home with the clips. I also had a kid tell me he bought 3 of them, but had lost one and that was his... poor kid. To be 9 years old and already lying. But the other 2 never came forward. ALL the volunteers that helped the kids shop were called, they only remembered the 4 that we already knew about. So we fiqure 2 were stolen. One will get away with it. The other will give someone an empty box. I am betting on a cussing come January 5th. But I tried to find the owner. I really did.

We were starting to get busy in the shop, and the fire alarm went off. We had a drill.
It was spitting rain and nasty outside, but they made all the kids go out in it anyway. Great present for all the parents. Sick kids for Christmas!

Parents were walking up balancing cupcakes and pizza's and various other sundry for the parties adn had to stand out in it to wait for the all clear.

RIght about the time I was headed to Bretts party, I had closed the store, started my inventory and needed to set up the room while the kids were at PE, I got caught walking by the office. A parent had brought in money for a kid to shop. So I found another janitor, unlocked the door again, and let him shop. Then I snuck back by the office, found another janitor, got it locked back and headed to parties. I had to leave Bretts early to set up for Matts. 4 parents showed up for Bretts, only one other for Matts. But there was plenty of sweets to go around!

When they were done I went back and did my inventory, packed it all up and helped Matts teacher clean up after the party. She said that he was doing great, and was for sure all boy.

Brett was saying he had a headache before we left, and looked like he was in pain.
I opted not to take him to walmart and got home around 5. Brett was screaming and crying from a miagraine by 6:30. He puked up his medicane the first time out. Then he went to sleep. They did have school the next day but honestly, there was no reason to go. And with a headache like that I knew he would be suspetable to another easily.

I was still running on Sudafed and coffee, but on Friday I decided to do NOTHING. I had planned to sleep in, luckily BR woke up and left before the alarm went off, so at 6:15 I was blessed with the insistant dinging of it. I got up and started to the bedroom to turn it off ( we had fallen asleep in the living room) and according to Matt, who was at the table eating cereal, it had been going off for almost an hour. I felt like hammered dog poo and wasnt sure living through the day was worth it. Matt did bring me another package of sudafed at one point, and I popped out two. He told me that I really should read the directions. it was a one pill dose. he was right. All week I had been popping two at a time. No wonder I was buzzing....

Oh and BR woke up and left early for a reason, He was tired of me leaving Bow to be watched by him while I got dressed. I just know it. But thats okay, cause I wasnt getting dressed. He wouldnt have had to watch him...

Matt started to feel bad about half way through the morning and laid down. He had a bad headache and didnt want to puke. that was fine by me. Cause he WONT run to the bathroom. he will stand there and tell you 'I am fixing to ..........' and puke everywhere. at least Brett will break his neck to get to a toilet.

the other 3 were wound up tighter than an 8 day clock. I never did get a nap in.
BUt I did spend the entire day fetching Bow out of the kitchen, off the table out out of the chairs, or being handed ornaments off the tree or candy canes off the tree. I thought I was doing good when I bought 4 dozens 'unbreakable' balls. Nope. Come to find out, if you bite them just right, you can break them. Luckily, if you just throw them they dont break. Bow did both. And its not like I just smiled and told him 'no no Bow, thats a bad boy' and patted him on the head when I took them away or fished him off the table. He is just hard headed.

I had called my MIL to find out if instead of taking the kids with her on Monday to day care so I could take my mom to Lufkin to get their presents, she would keep them tomorrow on Saturday. She said she was takin her mom to get groceries. And that my sister in law AManda wanted us to all come to her house for Christmas Dinner. The first words otu of my mouth were "but she cant cook". "Oh I know, she is only making a ham. we are all bringing the rest".. Oh good.

She would keep them on Sunday though. Great. So I called my mom. She wished it had been Saturday. there was something she had to do on Sunday, she would call me back. And Monday too.. But she couldnt remember what. GGGGGGGGRRRRRRRR we dont have a large window. Monday and Tuesday are the only days for daycare. and I really didnt want to send them. there is a chance they will be sick, plus my mother in law has to deal with them all day. And its money wasted. And truthfully she really didnt want them up there all day. I know that. which is why I very seldom if ever, ask for her to take them. I dont even like to ask someone to keep the kids.

When BR got home last night he took the remote, and so we got a showing of movies we have all seen 87 times. I got Bow to sleep and by 9:30 was snoring myself. Again, I had fallen asleep on the couch. we were watching armageddon. Rayley had went and got her blanket and they were all layin in the floor watching it. Apparently BR fell asleep in his chair too, cause I woke up around 2 and he was still there and all the kids were in the floor. I just rolled over and fell back asleep after poppin some more pills. OH and I remembered that BR was going to be off on Sunday. So I couldnt take my mom then. CRAP. Maybe I would call my MIL when she got home from town and see about going this evening.

But I fell back asleep- It was so blissful. Till 6am. when BR kissed me, waking me up to tell me he had taken the weekend off. Aparently he didnt want to keep the news to himself. So today has started. Around 7 the kids started to wake up. Thanks to Bow. But Matt just laid there. He was about 3 feet from BR's chair. And I was in the kitchen making breakfast.

"Hey Michelle, come here"
"whats up?"
I thought he wanted me to see something on the TV, he was watching all the NFR finals he had recorded last week.
"have you looked at Matt?"
"nope.. I have been dealing with Princess Criesalot and velcro here."
"feel him, he looks feverish"
so I did. and yep he was...

I had to go to the store and buy some sprite, dope him up and am praying that none of the rest get sick.

My house is a disaster, I had to cancle taking my mother to Academy in Lufkin till Monday, and I am still high as a kite from the sudafed. Have I mentioned that I have a weird reaction to cold meds? I try to avoid cold meds at all costs. But this week it was unavoidable to avoid them.. They make my brain feel like a ping pong ball in a round room.. just bouncing all over the place. We are talking space cadet canidate.. AND now I have to cook something for Christmas Dinner. I dont know what yet. I wont know till CHristmas eve I am sure. I have to find out what every one else is bringing. BR will be working, the kids wont want to leave their new stuff, and I already have to go to my grandfathers, do something with my mother (what I dont know yet, but something I am sure...) , and visit the great aunts houses.

I really, really want the new living room built. That way I have enough room to invite everyone over here, and when they decline I can say "I understand, but we wont be able to come to your house on CHristmas day either". It used to work so well when I had a real house. Plus, if I do all the cooking I can eat all the food. I am a VERY picky eater. AND I can watch my football game, and my kids can play. whats the point in getting new stuff if you cant play with it?
Oh and I get to watch my game. OH and I am not picking between 'my family' and 'his family'. His family understands. but still wants to see the kids. Mine....

anyway, Its another weekend. with all the chores that weekends bring, and my whole immediate family is here, all wanting to sit in my lap, arquing over who is GONA set in my lap, or lay on me, or see who can make me get up the most to get them something. They are running neck and neck. But I am pretty sure BR is winning.

Bow has 'almost' went down for 3 naps, but was woken up by someone or something each time. And the second I got him to sleep, and at the stage between falling asleep in my arms and being asleep enough to be laid down, Rayley was in here saying "I am hungry, can you make me something to eat!"

Brett was nice enough to offer to make a sandwich. Which means I have a very large mess to clean up. And as soon as Bow started to snore, all the other kids were sitting on the couch, so no place to lay him..

OH and for the 4th time since I suggested taking her to Lufkin to get the presents, mother has asked me "why dont we just take them with us?"

DUH.

I just had to edit to add. BR just came out of the bedroom, he had a shower and now that I have Matt asleep, Bow asleep and the kids all quiet, he wants to take this trailer load of crap and trash we have to the dump... right now..

take me out OF the Ball Game!!

Yesterday was fun. Hectic but fun.

I had to be at the school to set up the store by 10. and was supposed to meet my dad for lunch. Unfortunatly, only one lady showed up to help and I wasnt able to meet with my dad. He had driven in and driven out already.

I also had to run by Walmart, They had called, the bow I ordered for me was in. I am pretty much through with my shopping now. We had gotten Rayleys bow and lots of arrows at Academy the day before.

Once I got home it was time to start cooking cakes. As they were cooking I cooked supper and the kids ate. Shortly after they went to bed, and we got to work on the cake. I made 3 13X9 cakes, and we cut and shaped them. That is the first picture.

Then I asked my to get my green icing ready. I didnt think we would EVER get it green enough. And neither did he. I kept telling him 'more green!' 'MORE GREEN' I felt like Christopher Walkin asking for MORE COWBELL!

We put the first layer of icing on, then let it sit for about 10 minutes. at 9 we started the cutting and got it all iced. At 10 I started decorating. At 1 I sat down on the couch and refused to budge again.

The cake was a hit. And although it wasnt as perfect as it could have been, and I was a little embarressed by it, Brett loved it and it tasted good. Plus it was my first ever 'creation'. I have made cakes. I have a peanut butter cake that is to die for. But you just slap some peanut butter iceing on it and your ready. This was definatly an expirience. It wasnt anything special. I used 4 cake mixes. Both brands I had coupons for (of course!). and just plain ole buttercream iceing (coupons AGAIN!!). So For less than 10 bucks, I am happy.

Brett had a great party. Of course it was 3 days too late. Both boys got brand new Carhartt jackets, Thick hoodies, and 8 pair of new jeans. BR and I got them gloves, and they got a few toys. Brett got lots of cash, and They each got a sleeping bag. Plus these agervating voice changing things. Its all I can do to not chunk them through a window. Bow got a few new toys, and Rayley got a tea set, a hoodie, some gloves, and a cash register. They made out like bandits. It always just makes me sick. Noone single person spends a fortune on them, Really its all inexpensive things, BUT the family is so big that they get alot of things.

Once the party was over and all cleaned up, we came home and had to do Matts project. We kinda cheated. Well, more than we already had. We got a ziplock bag, put the paint in thier mixed the colors we needed and he would drop the styrofome ball in and squish around in the paint. right now they are drying. tomorrow he will stick them on the sun. And I will print up the facts for them, so he can stick those on. I dont let them on my computer. Since its Tommy's last night here I plan on visiting wiht him a little. He will be gone before I get up. If I wasnt worried about Bow waking up in the middle of the night, I'd get in his trunk.

The toothpics are to mark where I will be seperating the grass and the dirt. It took us quite a while to convince ourselves that drawing it out with a sharpie wouldnt be good. In the end I went with toothpics for a guideline.

Not Near Green Enough!! and do you see my

There is no turning back now!!

Time for the DIRT!! Its really crushed up Graham Crackers. And I used peices of airhead candy for the bases and pitcher rubber.

My 'other' child is sitting back there. Can you tell they look just like him? just with less facial hair?

transporting it was HARD. my base wasnt hard enough, and it was HUGE. I did have a box that I had gotten something in the mail in. so we put it in there. Then put it in my dads trunk. It made it there safe. I was SOOO relieved.

Since we got home the kids have been bouncing off the walls, Bow amoung them. He has been into everything, playing with the kids, in my lap and trying to take a nap or trying to stay awake.

They wanted to sleep outside in their sleeping bags, but never would go out. they wouldnt have stayed had they went out, but I kept hearing "why wont you let us go out?" I kept telling them to go. They were saying I was just being mean, teasing them, that I wouldnt let them stay. I assured them I would. But they did play outside for a few hours.
It took me 30 minutes to get the kids in bed. It was one thing after another. Finally, I get them all laid down. Then Rayley starts griping that Brett needs a bath. He stinks. and she comes to complain to me about it. I told her to get in her bed instead of on the pallet with Brett.

"but mom, he stinks and needs a bath"
"he had a bath Rayley"
"He stinks though"
"what does he smell like?"
"possum"
"Possum??!!" I was afraid he had caught one or something. of course I knew he had taken a bath, and hadnt went back outside, but I still had to know..
"yep"
"where did they get a possum"
"from outside silly"
"I mean where did they find it? where is it?
"on the side of the house"
"okay... So, how did this happen?"
"well one day the devil made the dogs kill a possum, and it was outside and so the boys and I found it, and they dug a grave, and we put the possum in there. It was dead, and I was wearing my yellow dress, and... Shut up Matt, I am telling this story, it doenst matter if it happened in June or Tuesday, so, they dug this hole, well we all did, and put the dead possum in it, why did the dogs kill the possum? and then the dogs tried to dig it back up, but you told us to put rocks over the grave. how do you not remember this? I was wearing my yellow dress and those pretty sandles, and we did and the dogs couldnt dig it up no more. And then..."
"what exactly does your attire have to do with this story?"
"huh?"
"your attire.. Clothes. what does it matter what you are wearing? "
"mmmooooooooooommmmmmmm, it ALWAYS matters what we are wearing"
"fine, what does this possum have to do with today and Bretts odor?"
"huh?"

I do remmeber this happeneing, it was back a while ago. I remember it especially since they didnt bury it very deep. It would have been better off staying dead in the yard. At least then, the dogs might have carried it off.

Global Warming my foot

Yesterday they predicted snow, sleet, and rain. but since it was in the 70's a few days before, and this is South East Texas, it wasnt going to stick. Or even accumulate.

At 10 I was in the kitchen and kept hearing a watery splashing/tinkling sound. I couldnt find the drip. ANYWHERE. Then I went to let the dogs out and opened the door. It was sleeting with some snow mixed in. The cars were already covered.

We went on to bed. Then at 4 the Moronic dog woke me up. I went to let her out and saw nothing but white. inches of white.

I went and woke up BR. Made him get up and look. Then I went back to bed. I had to be up in an hour. Mom called about 8 minutes after I got in the bed to tell me it was snowing. I told her I knew that. She wanted me to wake up Rayley. I declined. I planned to wake them up before it melted. but honestly, I did want my last hour and a half of sleep.

When the alarms went off at 5:15 I got up and came in here. Yep, it hadnt been a dream. There was nothing but white. I waited about 15 minutes. Then I woke up the kids.

I went in and told them that I had a suprise for them. Just yesterday Rayley had wished it would snow here. She thought it was sooo beautiful on TV and wanted some here. I had to break her heart and tell her it never snows in South East Texas. and when it does, it doenst stick.

Matt was the first one to get up. I told him I needed him to do me a favor. Go out to my truck and get my purse. He said "but I am in my underwear, I'll freeze!"
"just run out there real quick and get my purse, Please!"
"mooom, I cant. Its too cold out there. I'll die of hyperthermia" (yep, he said HYPER)
"Matt, it wont take 5 seconds, open the door and run out"
He opened the door, said "MOM, I CANT go out there, ITS snowing, I am IN my underwear, dont you know how cold that is?"
"Matt, just go, please"
"MOOOOM, I'll freeze my gonads off if I go out in the snow. And you dont have a purse anyway!! Just a wall..... OH MY GOD!! ITS SNOWING!!! WHEN?? WHERE DID IT COME FROM?? OH MY GOD!! can I play in it? I have to play in it. Can I wake up the others? wow!! snow!! Oh its so pretty!! can I build a snowman? a snow fort? throw snowballs?"

"Yes Matt. "
"you were tricking me"
"yes Matt"
So he got a snowball off the porch (apparently, the cold doesnt affect you in your underwear when you are excited) and took it into the bedroom to give to Rayley to coninve her to wake up.

BRett got up about that time, and came in. I heard the same exclamations from him. Finally we got Rayley up. She wouldnt belive us that it snowed. But she did go and look. She was just as excited. It took me 10 minutes to convince them to get dressed.

I went outside with them, and the first thing BRett did was hit me with a snowball. It hit right at my throat and went right down my hoodie!

I took a few pics of them. They played for a while, and I called my mother in law. She was still going into work, cant afford to miss any. But the internet said that Jasper school wouldnt start until 10. but our busses were running later than that. Since mine cant ride the bus, and I wasnt going to Jasper, AND their ride was leaving at 6 am. They didnt get to go. I wasnt sending them in with her. I felt it was too dangerous. the bridges were still iced over. And like BR told his brother tonight "if there were 11 cars on the side of the road in a 5 mile stretch, with one flipped over, and OUR mom made it safely to town, what does that say about THEIR driving ablilities?" Plus, we get snow once in a blue moon. Why not let the kids enjoy it?

But the bottomline was, they had no way to town. They wernt going in at 6am. I wasnt going in at 10am (which is when most of the wrecks happened anyway, since it was melting a little), and they are NOT allowed on the bus...

Of course it didnt matter. The kids had a blast! They played outside from about 5:30 till 8 when BR and Bow got up. Then we went back out. Bow was just in heaven! He just ran and played and fell down and got up and would pick it up and eat it.

Since it never gets really really cold here we didnt have gloves and such, so we went through lots of socks. Rayley kept getting cold and having to change. and the boys were soaking wet from building a snowman.

We really enjoyed making the snowman, but we did it after Daylight and I am glad. The kids had already pounced and trounced through the entire front yard though, and finding clean snow was not easy. So as I was walking around trying to find some untouched snow I came across some that I was glad I could see in the light of day. It was yellow. I am just glad the didnt try to write their names...

There is still snow out there, in a few places. and the roads to town were very trecherous from what I hear, But it was a magical day. I loved it. It was great to go out and play with the kids. You know, this is about the only time when you can throw projectiles at your children and not worry about CPS becoming involoved.
So BR and I took full advantage of that fact.

My dad is in, he came in on Wend. I had been at the school all day since it was Pictures with Santa. I will post those pics later. But tonight I am going to bombard you with hundreds of snow images. Mostly cause I couldnt pick the best. And cause you wont see my kids in snow pics very often. That would require me packing them up and taking them up north on vacation. And for that plan to work, a few of my rules would have to be broken.
1. Crossing the Red RIver. I refuse.
2. a vacation with my 4?? Not unless I had a Nanny and alot of booze..
3. Temptation to leave them a few states away might be too great and I fear I couldnt resist.

Tomorrow is a special day for me. I hate that I will be leaving My dad here to fend for himself for a few hours. BUT, I get to go in and set up my Christmas Store. The Officially named "JINGLE BELL JUNCTION!" store. I have been corrected each time I call it the CHristmas Store...

But tonight I have to make a spread sheet of all my merchandise. And there is LOTS of merchandise... LOL

Then when I get home I need to decide if the kids have been good enough to have a tree. AND start Bretts cake. AND get Matt started on his solar system project. Which I LUCKED out on. I went to the craft section of walmart in Lufkin, and was going to buy balls. BR, Tommy and I all argued over which ones to get.. THen, sitting RIGHT in front of us, was this inconspicious little box. For 10.00 I could get 10 balls, all differnt sizes, wire, and a few directions. A Solar System in a box!! WHOO-HOO!! I didnt think their Sun was big enough, so I did add a larger sun, and I got him paint. But I am still thrilled!! Unfortunatly, Like Bretts project, the amount of time you spend doing it really doesnt affect the grade. Just getting the general theme down and having them in the correct order is all they care about.

But he is looking forward to it. AND I also lucked out on the bow. I called Bentonville. and Asked them to find me another bow. They found 8 stores in Texas that have them. Tommy had stopped at about 12 on the way up here and NONE of them had one. SO I went to a manager here in town and asked her to have one sent to her. She was MORE than happy to do it. And its on its way. She called me tonight to tell me that she had called them back today and asked if they HAD sent it. She is really on this!!

And we found Rayley one that has a draw weight of 10 pounds. I hope she can do it.

anyway, Here are the pics, Since we are supposed to be back in te 70's by next week I hope the kids remember this for a long time . and I will talk to y'all tomorrow! :)

Brett 1- Me 0

well, the day started out much like I expected. BR was saying "HEY, HEY, I need some help here."
So I groggily opened my eyes. He was holding Bow up and saying "This is a bad one, I might need some help"
So, I got up and changed Bow's diaper. While he found something to watch on TV. IT was a bad one. BR told me "I kept blaming the dog, and got up to find where he had had an accident (the dog is 11 and would rather DIE than go in the house, but he is getting old..), Then Bow got down from playing on top of you and got in my lap and I found the source."
We had slept in the living room, since he isnt supposed to lay down to sleep. He has to sleep sitting up.

BR felt a little better, but still needed pain pills. I called walgreens in my town to transfer his Rx. Unfortunatly, Sams pharmacy is closed on Sundays.

Then I started cleaning. My mom called around 10:30. The kids were playing. Did I really want them home? Ummm yep. I explained again, that this was the ONLY day I had to get the tree up. and they had ALOT of cleaning in their rooms to do. Not to mention all the crap they had in MY livin room and kitchen to pick up.

SO she brought them home.
The minute they came in I told them to get busy. We had 7 hours to get the house clean, Bretts project done and baths and haircuts.
"but mom! why?"
"yeah! why cant we play?"

"cause I told y'all last night when I left you there that this HAD to be done today. YOU chose to stay. I tried to get you to come home and even tried yesterday to get you to work."

In all honesty, I didnt try hard. I was worried we would end up back in the ER. and it was late, and they were all settled in, and I just didnt have the energy to argue. Plus BR did feel like death warmed over.

"Why do I have to do my project today?"
"cause its DUE tomorrow"
"you didnt say that last night"
to this I entered into a tirade the likes you have never seen. I read them the riot act. I told them that its NOT my responsibility to remember EVERY little thing they have to do. THEY know what is expected of them, and THEY should take SOME responsibilty. I am their mother, not their personal assistant, maid, and cook, driver and laundress.

THey kinda started cleaning. Princess criesalot had excuses for everything, but finally did see the light. I of course had to do everything I was doing while tripping over Bow, who clings to my legs and cries for me to pick him up the whole time I am doing anything. BR did get up and went out to work on the lowboy trailer lights. It wasnt hard work, he only had to rewire one connection, and put in 2 bulbs, but when he was done he was wiped out. And his cheek/jaw are was hurting again.

He came in and sat down, turning on movie after movie to catch the kids eyes.
He even got up a few times and got the kids on task. At one point I was walking through and saw the pile of clothes the kids had thrown down, Bow was playing king of the mountain. It was at least 3 feet tall. everything from swim trunks to blankets and thermal underwear. I started to throw a fit and BR came in and told them smell and look at every peice to make sure it was dirty. They managed to dwindle the pile down to half its size.
I worked right up till the game came on at 3. I look forward to the game every week. I always watch it and I dont like to be interupted while I am trying.

I do utilize the record feature on the TV though. Cause inevitably my kids will make me pause it through out the game to answer questions, stop fights, and get them something to eat.

I had just sat down and got comfertable, got the clothes I needed to fold in front of me, and Rayley came in. Her room was clean. I checked. and pointed out the 348 objects that were NOT where they were supposed to be. I asked the boys to wash their bed clothes, and made sure one of them was picking up their bathroom.

back to the game. Bow wanted attention. and this is why I always have at least 5 baskets of clothes sitting around that need hung up and folded. When I sit down to fold and sort, he gets IN the baskets, on the baskets, or throws my folded clothes all over, or throws the clean clothes onto the floor out of the baskets. SO I dealt with him, turns out he wanted to play ball. He throws a ball to BR or I and we throw it back. He throws pretty good. he would throw it to us, we would catch it, throw it past him and he would go and get it.

I asked the kids to take out the trash, and settled in once again. Then I reminded Brett he had to do his timeline. He went into the kitchen and got started. But first they were all hungry. SO I fed them. THEN told him to clean off the table and get busy.

He already had the timeline written out, he just had to transfer it to posterboard.

I set him up with that. told him how to do it, drew him a picture, and was back to my game.
Rayley came through a little while later. Her room was clean again, for the 7th time. I assured her that it wasnt. She swore it was. I told her "you HAVE not cleaned up by your kitchen" SHe swore she did. and I asked her where Bow's train was. The last time I had went in there I had seen the wheel of it poking out from under some toys.. Since she hadnt brought it in here I knew she hadnt cleaned up that spot. Then she said "how do you spell CRIME SCENE? I told you this kid is a bubble off plumb.
"Y -O- -U- R B-O- D- Y"
and I look over at BR. He nods his head and says "sounds about right to me"
"ohhh okay. neat" She said.
Then she ran into the kitchen to tell BRett "I know how to spell CRIME SCENE"
"So do I, C -R-I- M -E S- C- E- N- E"
"nope"
"ya huh"
"nuh uhh"
"is too"
"thats not what mom said"
"well what did mom said?"|
"I dont remmeber how to say what mom said, but it wasnt what you said"
"well thats how you spell it,"
"no, its not!" she said with a foot stomp"
"MOOOOOOOOMMMMMM Bretts instigating a fight!!"
"NO I am not mom! I am telling this moron how to spell, and she is arguin with me!"
"he doesnt spell like you do!!"
"see what you started" BR said...

GGGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.
Luckily, at this point Brett had a question. So we answered it. Then back to the game.
Then another question. Finally BR and I paused the game, got up and went to walk him through it step by step. He had put all 17 entires on 7 inches of the paper insteadof spacing it out for the entire timeline.

So, BR would show him what to do, then make him do it.
My game was paused, and I was in there 'helping'...

I had to get up a few times and deal with Bow, with Matt and Rayley fighting and with the dishwasher going off. I loaded my 3rd load of the day, answering the phone. Family was finding out that BR had been sick, so they were all calling to check on him. then I rewrote the timeline on a scratch peice of paper, since BRetts was not legible.
All of a sudden I heard the TV talkin. It was a commercial, but I jumped up. I KNEW the game wasnt over. I was an hour and a half behind, but it wasnt even half time yet. Sure enough, the kids had been in here fighting in the floor and hit the satalite box. they stopped the recording. Since it was on a commercial, I hit record again, then turned on the first recording, starting the game back over. So I wouldnt find out the score since I hadnt seen the other hour and a half.

We got the timeline done. and I sent Matt to put his blankets and sheets in the dryer, and start another load of clothes. Then to take a bath.
BR and I sat down, and started back on the game. We had went about an hour into it. Having to pause to tell BRett to take a bath. Argue with Rayley why she wasnt getting a bath right then, and deal with Bow. I finally got him down to sleep. He hadnt had a nap today, so he would sleep through the night. if they let him.

Then it dawned on me. When I set a recording to record and its sports, it automatically goes 60 minutes beyond the supposed end of the game. BUT since Matt and Rayley had turned OFF the original recording, and I had just hit the record button, the one that was recording now was not going to record past the end of the game. And if you are watching a recorded event you cant rewind when you get back to live TV.

SO I told BR. He asked what I was going to do. Well I didnt want to go to the new recording, cause I hadnt finished with the 1st half yet. and I didnt want to see the score incase something had happened.

I didnt have anything set on the bedroom TV till 8. So I asked Brett to get up and go and turn on the TV in the bedroom. I said "turn on the TV. put it on channel 64 and see whats on." "BUT DONT SAY ANYTHING! just awnser my questions with a yes or no answer."

He looked at me funny, but did it.
He went in there, and turned on the TV. He was standing in the threshold of my bedroom, and said "number 3 just punted" "DONT! DONT tell me ANYTHING"
BR said "JUST Look at the clock, tell me what the time left is"
"1:47"
"okay, thanks, now what quarter?"
"JUST tell us the quarter, nothing else up there. Just the yellow number after the countdown clock"
"4th"
"alright. tell me when a commercial comes on" I said.
I was going to get up when a commercial came on, and go in and hit record on that TV incase it ran over. They ALWAYS run over.
"number 21 just... "
"DONT TELL ME ANYTHING ABOUT THE PLAYERS!!"

So BRett stood in the doorway and would get excited, or gasp, or something every few seconds. "Brett, please, just watch till a commercial comes on. NOTHIN else"
"alright mom!"
of course all this woke up Bow.
a few minutes passed, and I was gettng back into my game and holding Bow and getting him back to sleep. I had a plan, and wouldnt miss anything. There is nothing worse than watching an entire game and missing the last 3 or so minutes cause the durn TV stops recording. and it was close to 6, so I knew it would be going off any minute.

We watched for a few more seconds, and I looked down, the red light was off, I told BR, its not recording anymore. He said I was right, and it was a good thing I had realized that. Otherwise we would miss the end.

Then BR and I were hollering at the TV, a great play had happened. BR and I were discussing the play, and what they needed to do next. "okay mom, come on, its 20-13 steelers over Cowboys"

I havent even made it to the half. it was still 3 to 3. I had done EVERYTHIN I had to do today, busted my ass to get all MY crap done. ANd did half of theirs, interupted MY game to help him with homework that a drunk monkey could have done, fixed them 2 meals during MY game, helped them make a bed, paused the TV to go in and show them stuff that was STILL not picked up, and they KNEW wasnt picked up, and all I wanted to do was sit, enjoy a winecooler and some popcorn while I watched the Cowboys play. 3 hours. the rest of this month. EVERY day, of this month is dedicated to doing something for someone else. Be it the PTA, nursing and driving BR to DR appointments, making him plates, fixing their food, cleaning for my dad to come in, putting up a tree, spending hours trying to find the perfect gift for THEM. ALl of it. and all I want is 3 hours each weekend to watch a football game. everything else I watch, I wait until they are asleep. Sometimes it will take me 3 days to watch a sitcom, cause I wait so late at night that I fall asleep during it.

I am not complaining really, but just asking for a little compassion. I know he didnt think about what he was doing. BUt thats the problem with my kids. they DONT think..

"GEE BRETT THANKS!"
"what?"
"NEVER MIND, just sit down. "

So BR says what happened? I said he told me the score. "BRETT, why? you know she was trying to watch the game. why would you do that? "
"well it was the same game!!"
" You JUST heard us say the score was 3 to 3. because you asked how they had 3, when a TD is worth 6. and we explained afield goal to you AGAIN"

"oh" " well are you going to go and record it?"

I just got up and started doing laundry. I had heard the buzzer go off about 5 minutes before and asked Matt to go and get his bedclothes out. Of course that was ignored. So I went to get them. and what do I find? an empty washer.
I walked into their bedroom.
"Matt, why is my washer empty?"
"I took out my blankets and put them in the dryer like you said"
"and what did you put IN the washer?"
"nothing"
"why?"
"There wasnt anything else"
"Matt, you had to walk OVER this pile of clothes infront of your door to get to the laundry room, then walk on a pile of clothes 2 foot high to GET to the DANG washer. you had to THEN walk BACK in here with BRetts bedclothes, OVER that same pile, and THIS pile, to put them on his bed in that attractive heap that you threw them into"
"I didnt know what you wanted me to wash"
"ANYTHING. ANYFREAKING THING IN THE HOUSE"
"oh"
"I even asked you to PLEASE put a load on"
"I didnt hear you"
"so, I have done 8 loads of laundry today and you fiqure I dont want another load in?"
"maybe"
at this point I left the room. For fear Rayley would have to give a statement in requards to a CRIME SCENE.
BR asked me what all that was about. I told him. "oh well keep it down, I had to pause the game cause of your tirade-- OH watch this play"

I tried to count to 10. Then started folding clothes, and told Matt to get some hangers. "but those are your clothes, why do I have to hang them up?"
Apparently by the steam coming out of my ears and the red color creeping up my face he decided this line of questioning was not going to benifit him in anyway and he got a few hangers.

Then I started telling the kids to put up some of the clothes I was getting folded. And I put up the clothes I had.
"did you see that?"
"watch this one!!"
"OMG, I cant belive they just did that~ You have to see this!"
"they are just going to give them the game"
"oh wait, they might come back with this one"
I didnt ruin it for him. because I knew how upset I was in knowing the score. I did explain to Brett what he did though. and why it was so wrong. "but you just said dont tell you what the PLAYERS were doing. you never said the score..."

I also had to give Matt back half the clothes he hung up. He would have the shirts so wonky that you couldnt even tell it was a shirt.

I also made Brett make me some more laundry soap. Those two loads that Matt had done had used up at least 2 cups of detergent.

And of course I was out of borax. I only had enough for 1 batch and Brett had already ground up 2 bars of soap. when I went in to mix them it dawned on me what Brett had said a few minutes before "HA! I did manage to smush it down and get them both in that one bowl" well he had taken the soap shavings, that are supposed to be fluffy so I can mix them and basicly made another bar of soap out of them. I had to break it all back up.

OF course then they were hungry again. I really need to get them checked for tapeworms.

I came in and sat down, right as there was about 2 minutes left. Bow had gotten woke back up and I was trying to get him to go back to sleep. BR was still watching the game. Obvlious to the final score and then it just stopped. with about a minute 30 left. The COwboys had the ball and only needed a TD to tie it. He was really wanting to see that touchdown.
so he went to the menu and saw I hadnt started the other one. "what happened?"
"thats when the recordin went off"
"you didnt get the end?"
"nope. but it was 13-20, so you pretty much saw it all."

By the time 7:30 got here I was so ready for them to go bed. Luckily, for some reason, they thought it was bedtime and had already gotten ready. I didnt even realize they were in bed, until I went looking for them because I walked back into my clean kitchen to find the mess from where they made their lunches. Honestly, I didnt make them get up. For one, I fiqured I would end up exploding and thats never pretty. For 2. It was just so much easier to clean it up and BR did feel sorry for me and helped. and for 3. I honestly didnt want to see their faces or hear their voices for at least 7 hours.

There is still no tree. I cant vaccum because I broke the belt, and after their baths they destroyed the bathroom again. I didnt realize that until they were already in bed. and I was not going to make them get back up and clean it. It will wait until they get home from school.

Gee, where does the time go?

Hmmmm.... where did I leave off ???

Lets see.. this week has been about normal. On Monday night BR called me. Told me he needed some head cold meds. So I dug those out, the only 4 I could find... that is 30 minutes of my life lost in a cabinet from hell with NO organization, that I will NEVER get back, I laid them on the bar where he stacks all his crap, and tried to pick up the house some.

Tuesday I went to town and got some groceries. Not alot, cause I was running so late. I had went by the school for a meeting, to check in some merchandise I had bought for the school Christmas store, and had to stick around town till another meeting that evening. I got my hair cut and picked up the boys from school and got theirs cut. I also went to walgreens and mopped up. I almost cried
Like I said, I need a whole bill of groceries, but didnt get out of my 2nd PTA meeting till well after 8, and mother was about to get whooped by Bow, I got some milk and bread and then remembered needing sudafed. So I had to trek all the way back through walmart with both boys to fetch it. And since some simple minded crackhead has fiqured out how to make crack out of sudafed, I had to show my drivers licence. I handed it over. Unfortunatly, it was my OLD licence. So I wasnt allowed to buy them. Come to find out, since now we have to hand over our drivers licences to get into the school, I am bad about putting it in my back pocket, Because I am not toting a purse right now. I never do when I am dealing with a diaper bag. THEN, when I get home, I am bad about throwing it on top of my dresser, and not putting it back in my wallet. (mostly cause my wallet stays in my truck). Well that morning I had picked up the wrong one and stuck it in my pocket. I got some other meds, that apparently you cant make crack out of, since you can be an illegal driver and still get them.

Once I got home I was able to talk to BR. We hadnt been able to catch each other all day and had played phone tag. He told me he was REALLY hurting, and to be sure and put him some more meds out. Later he called me and told me to make him a Dr appt in Lufkin the next morning. So he must really be feeling bad. He even came home early at 1:30.

This was how I started out my Wend. by making him an appointment. He woke up pretty early and the side of his head was swole up so bad that his eye was purt near closed. He had complained about a slight split on the inside edge of his nose, but we just atributed it to the cold air and such. I fiqured he needed an anitbiotic.

so at 1:30 we were at the Dr office. We were just going to get the dope and leave so BR could go to work. And the Dr decided it was a staph infection in his sinus cavity. Not what we wanted to hear. SO, he gave BR a steriod shot and 2 weeks worth of antibiotics. and a direct order to NOT take more than 8 tylonal or 12 advil a day. BR takes 5-7 at a time. we were to go back on Tuesday of next week. SO we went to Sams to fill the script. We managed to not spend any money.

From the time we leave there, until the next day when I bring him back, he says the pain is unbearable. From all the pushing and proding is what I fiqure. But it is so bad he swears that it feels like something is trying to push his teeth plumb out of his head. So I called and asked for some pain pills. They wanted to see him again. In we went. Now mind you this is a pert near 100 mile round trip. Another steriod shot and a script for pain meds. Plus directions for advil every 4 hours. we went to Sams to fill the script. I wanted to look for a few diet foods. The Dr had said that he should be on a 1800 calorie a day diet. the 2300 a day I was doing was not working.
I spent 130.00. By the time we left BR said the pain was twice as bad as yesterday.
When we got home I had lots of chores to do then at almost 9, the other PTA lady called me and went down her list for tomorrows presentation of the candle fundraiser winners. I asked her if I was supposed to have done anything. Nothing except made up the 'bulldog bucks' for the winners of the name the store competion, and the random drawing.
OH HELL. so I was up till 3am making those up. THey turned out cute. I did ones and fives. I scanned them in and erased wording and the presidents pictures. Put in a pic of a bulldog, and made up words and such.
Friday I had to get up and get the kids ready for school then get ready myself. I had a funeral and erronds to run, so I went ahead and dressed for the funeral. I had to be at the school at 8:30 for the fundraiser presentation and the announcement of the Christmas Shop winner. We did that first.
Both of us went up and she announced while I presented. She started by saying the grade of the winner. 3rd. Then the homeroom class. Then called out the name. Jingle Bell Junction. Matt was excited cause it was his grade. And his class. Then he recognized the name. Then she called OUT his name! He was so excited. He just turned to the kid beside him and started talking. We had to call him up. He came up in front of the school.
She and I had went through the names submited for over an hour. There were lots of duplicates. Then we had narrowed it down. There was few criteria. Nothing we had ever called it before, nothing too long, It had to be sorta unoffensive, and original. If there was a list of lots of names, from any one kid and we couldnt decide on any, we took the kids name off of it and took it to a secretary. She went through and picked them out. She picked a few off the lists we took her for the short list. And two of Matts made the list. and Two of Bretts. We also enlisted help on going through the other names. Then we listed the 10 top names and
sent the list around to all the teachers. Jingle Bell Junction had gotten 17 votes. ANd Elf Emporium had gotten 14. There were about 40 votes all together. We gave out the grand prize of a Wii and to the top 3 sellers of all grades. Then I had to go and check in 3 boxes worth of merchandise for the store.

Once I was done there I went to Walgreens and got a
decent deal But I had to go to a funeral of a man I had known for years. At first it was funny when people just stared at me and didnt recognize me. Then I started to get a complex. Especially when my grandfather just looked right past me. There were only a few people that recognized me. And that was people that hadnt seen me in at least 15 years. Those that see me on a regular basis were amazed. Even at the school people kept commenting on how nice I looked. Maybe I should wear something other than jeans and Tshirts more often.

SInce the funeral was about 30 minutes from town I didnt get back to walmart till late and it was another all day event. Keeping me from getting home till well after 6. BR said that he was hurting worse. And hadnt ate all day because he couldnt stand up long enough to make himself anything. Concidering there was chili in the fridge, lots of stuff that just required a microwave and sandwich stuff, this didnt sound good. He could have had a meal in less than a minute if he was really desperate, but couldnt get up and do it. So I tried to feed him, pay attention to Bow, who was excited to see me after being with out me all day and kinda pick up the kitchen.

The kids promised to help me clean on Saturday. we have GOT to clean the house. My dad is coming on Wend for Bretts party. I have to get the tree up, Laundry is piled to the ceiling, the kitchen is stacked iwth dishes and groceries that need putting up. Its just awful. But they swore, come Saturday morning they would help me. So everyone went to bed and we got up Saturday morning. The first thing BR said when my feet hit the floor was "whats for Breakfast?" I could have killed him. But I was nice, before I even got my Dr Pepper, I cooked him bacon and eggs. I did feel sorry for him, because even once I fixed him something to eat yesterday he felt too bad to eat it. I very seldom cook breakfast. for one, the kids would rather have cereal, and for 2. I dont like to. I have to cook every other meal. there isno sense in complicating life more. While I was suffering with no morning nicotine OR caffine and cooking breakfast for my loving family, the kids were whining cause I was ruining one of the two days a week they get cereal. Not what I want to wake up to. But I made the food and was even nice to them. then I started to clean.

I started in on them to help me. BR wasnt getting any better and although I explained to the kids, with the aid of a calender, that this was The ONLY time I had to get a tree up for the rest of the month, they just ignored me. Then around one BR said he had to go to the ER. His doctor is closed today.

SO I loaded him up, took the kids to my moms and off we went. I told them then that we had until tomorrow to help me get the house clean. AND to finish BRetts project, AND to get the tree UP. not just strowed across the room, BUT UP. They swore as soon as I got home they would help me. I told them that if there was no tree, santa WOULD NOT come to our house. It would be differnt if it wasnt mostly THEIR crap in the living room. and the kitchen. They have more toys in the floor of the kitchen, and shoes, and other crap, than I have kitchen stuff.
I dont think they belive me.
BR and I got to the ER at 2:30. By 3 we were in a room. They decided he needed a very strong antibiotic, cause there is a sinus cavity or vein or something that goes into the brain, and if it gets infected it can be VERY bad. BUT this antibiotic had to be given by IV and it took over 2 hours to give it. So we sat and watched a ball game. His sister came down and visited us. She works at that hospital. She said it was about the most powerful antibitic avalible. The Dr said he should start to feel better and to call our Dr on monday and let them know what we did. Then, told him if he dosent get better to come back tomorrow. I had to call BR's boss and tell him that he is still sick. This makes 4 days he hasnt been able to work. I told him if it went much longer I might show up with MY CDL and drive for him. He laughed. But I think I scared him... And its not a bad idea...

We got out of there after 5 hours, and I got to my moms to get the kids and they were all begging me to stay there. They were doing HER tree. I said fine. and reminded them of my schedule for the next 3 weeks. and that if a tree didnt get put up here tomorrow, Santa wasnt coming. which is fine with me, I cant afford him anyway.

Next Wend is pictures with Santa at school, I have to be there. My dad comes in that day too. Thursday I am supposed to help with handing out the pics, but probebly wont. But Friday, I DO have to go in for a few hours and fix up the store, lay out all the merchandise. I also have to make Bretts cake. And then Saturday is his party. Monday starts the Jingle Bell Junction store, thats all day all week. Thursday is the last day and thats when we have class parites, so I will have to make snacks for each kids class. And then pack up the store. Friday is the last day before break and that weekend will be the 20th. I plan on doing my Christmas baking to take to everyones house for those next few days. Plus I refuse to bust my ass for hours to put a tree for 3 days enjoyment. I dont think they realize just how much time and energy goes into cleaning and putting up the tree. And they have to get their room picked up. YOu cant walk into it. And thats is where my dad sleeps. It HAS to be done. Even if it means they stay up all night doing it.

Speakin of which, its been a long day, and its nigh on 2. I think I will try to get some sleep so I can start again at 6am. I HAVE to find my sink in the kitchen. I just HAVE to.

Think, thunk, thought.... Huh?

42 times. in a 63 minute period.

I heard mom sooo much today that I decided to count. I started at 2:18. by 3:21 I had heard mom 42 times. from one kid.

and it wasnt all whining. It was just inane talking. she didnt have anything to say, she just wanted to say something.

And some of the conversations were.... interesting.

I started something new today. A friend of mine told me that she has a 'favorite' kid each day. One that is especially helpful, or just sweet. She will tell them they are her favorite for the day and let the others know it too. It seems to promote them trying harder to BE her favorite.

So today Rayley got to be my favorite. It was between her and Bow and he was agervating the living daylights out of me. BUT she did do good. I asked her to pick up a few things in her room. She started out by whining and crying and blah blah blah. Then I convinced her that I didnt want her to clean it spotless, just pick up a few things. She still resisted. and I explained that tomorow I planned to go to town, Bow was going to Mothers. She could do one of two things. pick up a little now, and get to go to mothers tomorrow, OR refuse, get her butt busted, THEN pick up the room and NOT go to mothers tomorrow. She opted to pick up a little.

about 10 minutes later she came back in the kitchen where I was cleaning and told me that she had picked up alot. I went and looked and she had. So I made her my favorite.

At one point she came out with a barbie purse. She told me that it could be her lunch box when she went to school next year. I said that it sure could be.
"and then, when I get to school I am going to put it on my shoulder like this"
"and walk down the hallway"
"and then, some boy is going to see my pretty blonde hair and want to be my boyfriend"
"and I will have to tell him that he can be my monday boyfriend. Incase I get another for Thursday"

SO I told her "Your only allowed one boyfriend at a time Rayley. Its mean to have more than one boy that you call your boyfriend."
"well, in that case, On Monday I will have a boyfriend, break up with him, and then Thursday I will get a new one, then break up with him for my Sunday boyfriend."

"you sure you can handle all them boyfriends?"
"well sure I can, You handle 3 boys, 4 if you count dad, all the time, and its not like I am gona bring them home with me. Unless they want to clean my room"

She scares me. Bombs, and homemade weapons aside, this is the kid that scares me the most.

Another conversation was
"mom, maybe tomorrow I can go to marmies, then the otherday after that maybe I can go to meme's-- if my room is still clean, which we KNOW will never happen... Stupid boys... that means the boys will have to stay away from it. which means they are going to cry, I just hate it when they are drama queens, so when it gets to be the other day after tomorrow can I go to school? When are you going to cook supper, cause I think I am starvin plumb to death. and I just cant hear the TV can you turn it up? (ironically, it was a commercial for the loud and clear hearing thingy..) Mom, do you hear me, I wana hear this commercial. So, when will the boys be home? I miss them. I wana play with them. Can we go outside? what degrees is it outside? when will daddy wake up? (I kid y'all not, I was trying to blog, cause she was watching a movie, she came in here and started this, so I am typing as she talks...) mom, what rhymes with TV? VCR? or dragon, or computer? Does mom and marmie rhyme? does Brett and Bow rhyme? why did you name Brett Brett? Mom, do you know how big around I am? I am this many around. see. Bow is just a little baby. when will he be big as me? Can he talk yet and just doesnt cause he thinks its funny? like when Matt pouts? The boys are stupid, I dont know why boys are stupid, but they are. I'll be glad to go to school and meet normal boys. Why is Bow crying? Do you think his head hurts? wonder what is wrong with him. Why did you turn off the TV? you didnt want to watch it? Mom, Mom, MOm, are you hearing me?

At this point I had to tell her to please, PLEASE, stop talking. for just a second.
SO I heard "how long is a second?"

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

I will be glad when the boys get home. It would be nice to send her outside. Of course they will have lots of homework to do, so I doubt they get to go and play today. which is sad. Aside from it being a little chilly out there (53 right now), its a pretty day. and they need all the sunshine they can get.

****************************************

Once the kids came in we visited for a while. Brett said it was Great to be back in class and he had no problems. Matt said his class acted like he was a new kid and wouldnt play with him. I never knew boys were so ..... girlish.. I swear, I really thought only girls did the 'she's my friend today and we hate you' crap. But no, boys do it worse. heck, I always thought that boys just went out and were friends with just about everyone. or at least most of them were. But its not so. And Matt is a pretty popular kid. Both of them are. Its sad. honestly. or maybe just agervating. They have alot of phone calls (I didnt even USE a phone till I was in like 5th grade...), always get invited to parties, and we never go anywhere that people are not shouting out their names, and hollerin "hey dude!" and "whas up man!" Its kinda cute.

Both of them have HUGE projects due this month. BRett has a week, Matt has 2. Brett has to do a timeline. of anything or anyone he wants to do it on. He picked Bow. LOL He doesnt have huge ambition.. LOL A timeline for a year old. we will have to do a 'milestone' a month to make it worth our while..

Matt has to do the solar system. I hated this when Brett did it last year. We busted our butts and he did a great job. I printed out pictures of the planets and he colored them perfectly, we hung them in a shadow box and labled them, put the miles, and they were even to size. OHHHH and we wrapped the box in black tissue paper and then I bought him some glitter spray and he sprayed it for the stars, and the sun was made of red and orange tissue. It was really good. it took him a really long time. So, When I got to the school and looked at some of the others, I was both impressed and appalled. Some of them were out of this world. (no pun intended), Of course there was also the ones where the kids drew 9 circles on a peice of poster board, labled them, and colored them half assed, and made a 100 too. It was disheartning. I am just not big on effort not getting you a little more. Mean and rude and harsh, I know. But I am old and set in my ways.

Oh and tomorrow I have to find out if the boys teachers still have their snack tickets. the PTA buys the A and AB honor roll kids a snack ticket every six weeks. Well I KNOW that the PTA spent the cash on the tickets, so I have to make sure that they get them. I am certain that Bretts does have his, but Matt still has asemi permenent sub and he hasnt been in that class much since she came in, so his might have disapeared. Plus, the boys are embarressed to ask for the tickets. They dont want the teacher to say outloud "KIDS WHO GET SENT TO ISS DONT GET SNACKS" I really really dont belive that they would. But you know how kids imaginations are.

I have a full day tomorrow. I have that PTA meeting in the morning. Then grocery shopping all day, and then walgreens and I have to go and do some other stuff. Then I have another PTA meeting. I havent done my deals (matched what I need to the coupons I have and the sales there are..) and this is more time consuming than one would think. I havent even made a list of what I flippin need... I also have to make some adjustments to the bylaws for the PTA. we are looking to change a few things, and I have to get some rough drafts on some amendments. So we can vote on them. Then I will have to come home and redo the bylaws. THANK GOD for word... and there are a few other things I need to do. But honestly, I didnt write them down and now I cant remember what they were.. I have GOT to write everything down. Or I forget it. And even when I write things down I dont always do them. I still have a note on my truck window (write them in dry erase marker, ) to go and buy stamps from 3 weeks ago... And its RIGHT there on the front windshield.

Tonight I let the kids watch Shrek the Halls and the grinch. I LOVE Christmas. I cant wait to put up the tree. I just dont really want to do it with Bow around. LOL

oh and I found and went through the names the kids submited for the holiday store at the school this year. (honestly, this is my favorite thing of Christmas aside from my own kids. that christmas store is my baby!!) But we havent had a good name for it, so we opened it up for a contest. Since my kids were in ISS That week they did their lists at home, and then they rewrote them. (Thank GOD! LOL some of it was hard to read)

The board will vote tomorrow. and if any of my kids end up on the short list I will refrain from voting. Unless there are only 3 of us there. Then I will withdraw my kids entries.

Of course, had they been able to do it at school like the other kids, I would not even know the ones they picked and would in no way be biased.

I dont know how many entires there were turned in. But guess I will find out tomorrow. Heck, all this worrying might be for nothing. theirs might not even make the short list.

I guess I better get all my ducks in a row. I need to order the kids a present too, before its too late to get it here for Christmas. I still dont know what I am going o get them. I just dont know... what I really want to get them we cant afford, and I just dont know what else to do..

I really wanted to get them bows. But the nice inexpensive ones that we picked out are too toyish for them. And there is no middle ground. the next price range jumps from less than 100 to well over 2 and almost 3. So that is a NOGO this year.. LOL

Just what I need, to have to think about it... Like I need one more cotten picken thing to think about...

a snappy title eludes me...

well, Hasim Rahman is doing much better. (if you dont get this refrence, you dont watch alot of boxing it was him vs holyfield in the summer of 01 He swole up like you wouldnt belive they had to stop the fight..)

By the next day the swelling had went way down, thanks, I am sure, in part to the cut that bled like a stuck hog.

I spent today in Lufkin at Kmart. It was Super Doubles, they were doubilin coupons up to 2.00.

I got 227.21 worth of stuff for 55.60. I didnt do bad, but didnt get to get alot of the stuff I wanted. I forgot about trying to find some of the grocery items. And most of the free's were already gone.

My mom had kept the brats, and Martha and I went. She was regretting saying she would go with me once we were in the 3rd hour. Of course had we been able to check out at that point all would have been fine. BUT we rang up all 76 items, then she screwed up the coupons. It was awful. She kept having to call over the Assiant manager. Finally the Assistant manager got rude and I told her to just void it all and redo it. So we did. At first the cashier was not very nice. Talking crap to the one behind me about having to work during this. I was nice, and tried to help her as much as I could. We were in the check out line for over an hour. And there were only 2 open. To top it off, the cashier behind me was running her head about 'someone be gettin in my lines with all thems croupons and I just gona haves to tell thems to go on to customers service, I aint fixin to be doin all that crap. Thats too much work, I dint sign on for alls this' Her next customer had 23 coupons, and wouldnt let her gyp her out of the doubles either. And when a manager was called she was told to drop the attitude and shape up. Right there in front of us, cause she was talking smack to even the manager. After that our cashier was real nice. I managed a 75.5% savings, so it was well worth it.

I also got some barbies for 2.99 and matchbox cars for the same price. I was happy with that. I got like 6 barbies, an uno game and 3 sets of 5 MB cars for about 29.00. Since they were 5.99, 6.49 and 5.49 respectivly I fiqure I did a pretty good job.

By the time we left our stomaches thought our throats had been cut, so we went to Jack in the Box. After about 20 minutes in line, We ordered and finally got up to pay and get our food. And there was a picture of this mini chocolate cake. Chocolate overload is what they called it I think. If you are ever in a hurry, having to get a quick bite and choose Jack in the box, I am going to suggest that if you see this advertisement you run as fast as you can from it. We didnt. I was looking at it, thinking (like the last few times I saw it) how good it looked. and Martha piped up and said "that cake sure looks good" So I heard myself asking the cashier "Is it too late to add on 2 of them cakes?" "no, it will be 3.56." and so we got them. I ate my hamburger and curley fries. (I LOVE their curley fries) and was pretty full. After we stoped and I picked up some bread, I came out and decided to eat the cake. I didnt want to bring it home. For fear BR or one of the kids saw it and asked where theirs was, or worse, expected me to share it. So I told Martha that I was gona take a bite or two and she could have the rest. She was also saving hers till she got home. I took one bite and imediatly put it right back in its cute little container. I didnt even lick the fork. Because I knew, right then and there that this was something that I would have to eat while alone. with no distractions, and leisurly. I brought it home, hid it and waited until BR had left for work, and the kids were asleep and I snuck into the kitchen, got a tall glass of milk and came in and sat down. I turned down the TV. and just savored every bite. It was NOT near big enough. And Jack in the Box is WAAYY too far away for me to get another just because I am wanting it so badly. So, again, let me say, RUN, DONT accept the tempation. YOu will regret it, when you are sitting there, with just a hint of the taste left in your mouth and the occasional smell of the fudge from the container lingering in the air (it has little grooves, so you cant lick it all out), take my word on it.

On the way to town Martha and I were talking about the kids. She said that she wasnt sure the boys hadnt been playing with that snake they found at her house behind her truck the other day. Did I tell y'all about that? Seems the boys and Rayley were out playing and came across a grey runner or something. They did go to the houe and get her, then they went and killed it. She said it was awful riled up, and was curled up right behind her truck. But it could have been the dogs had been after it too. They swear the minute Matt stumbled over it they went strait to tell her and get a shovel. Of course she asked "what kind is it?" and they said "I dont know, want us to bring it to you?" She declined. Maybe they learned their lesson last Easter. I doubt it, But we can always hope.

Then we got on the subject of the boys and their foray into less than stellar behavior. She was laughing and said "I might just get them a chemestry set for Christmas"
I said "Oh MY GOD! NO YOU CANT! they really will blow something up then! I did!"
and the cat was out of the bag. I told her that when I was their age I had gotten a chemestry set. and it had lots of chemicals with it. some perfectly safe. Others not so much.. well, I did some of the 'recipies' in there. Then, I got kinda bored. So, I went through the case one more time. and found the "DANGER" book. There was actually a book in there that said "DO NOT add these checmicals together, or with household cleaners, as they can cause bodily harm or property damage" So, like any other normal kid, I made those concoctions too. Nothing ever blew up, But I did have lots of messes, things that would kinda overflow, and there was some dubious and most likely dangerous smoke a time or two. I didnt get into the cleaners as much, just cause I wasnt that type of kid. But since these all came in the same kit, I fiqured they were just being cautious when they said not to do it.

Which reminds me, I have never shown the boys how to make a volcano...

She also talked about Rayley and asked where she got the 'countriness'. I dont have a clue, but I can assure you. this kid is country a cornbread. She has an accent that would make Gomer Pile shake his head. But its a Texas accent, not just southern. ANd she says things that I dont know where she got them from. I fiqure its from the old folks. I have an uncle who says stuff like 'lent' as in "past tense of lean" and 'het up' as in "be careful outside, its hot and you'll get het up real quick and in a hurry' I will admit, I am a little bit country. and when I speak, people KNOW where I am from. I never hear "your from the south" I always hear "what part of Texas are you from?" I use 99% of Jeff Foxworthy's Redneck words, and always have, and have a very recognizable voice. (I was on the radio one night and people that have heard me talk ONCE or TWICE were calling friends of mine to see if that was me! ) But she beats me hands down. We laughed about some of the things she says and how blunt she is. For such a priss pot she has no sense of decorum. But you cant expect much when she is surrounded by boys. I fiqure she will find her balance sooner or later.

Speaking of dogs riling something up, Darla is outside and barking up a storm. She has been at it for nigh on 10 minutes. I reckon I should get the gun and go check, but its awful cold out there. Plus, last time I went out and started to flip over the peice of wood that she was baying I could see some slimyish skin, So I came back in and got the gun. Then went back out, I had to climb up under the house to get to it, and BR had been awoken by me cussin about having no bullets in my varmit gun and such. So, he went out too. I was trying to decide how to flip over the wood, while I was under the house, and get the gun in position to shoot the invading snake. So, he took the gun from me, reached under the house with it and flipped the wood off the biggest scariest toad you have ever seen...
BR asked if I thought I had a big enough bullet to kill it with, maybe I should go in and get a bigger gun, we didnt want to just wound it with the .22. I was not amused.

And it has finally gotten cold here. Maybe that will chase the snakes in. Its 46* at 7pm. Its supposed to be in the mid 30's tonight. And tomorrow might not get out of the 40's either. Its not going to last, but today was quite chilly. Of course when it warms back up the snakes will be back out.

Tomorrow is their first day back in class. I reckon we will see how that goes. And Tuesday I have 2 PTA meetings and they are at 9 in the morning and 5:30 at night. I will just have to stay in town all day. Not sure what all I will get done, but I will have lots of time to kill.
